^I think right now, either of those artists would draw the same size crowd the beastie's did in 2009. Drake is close to headliner status, even if no one likes that fact.
This headliner prediction is all well and good, but let's get back to the discussion about how bribing a pit volunteer apparently makes you a wretched abomination of a human, because I missed it earlier.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Phish is gonna close the festival- pretty much given. If they get another LN spot, I think it's more likely that they get Saturday for it this year, just to mix it up 09. This means we may have a deal like with Stevie Wonder, where we have an artist out of left field who is big, but not overly expensive (not Paul McCartney or Prince, or probably not Radiohead), again just judging price as best I can. Probably another classic act, like Santana or the Beach Boys or Paul Simon if they're big enough to fit there. Then Friday we'll get a well-established, but not terribly huge, act like the Foo Fighters or Muse.
If Phish doesn't get two shows, then I guess it's open to as much speculation as any other year.
We're on the same page. I think if Phish plays no way will they get two shows, more likely to be just Sunday. I feel the Beach Boys are probably a lock, though that's just my speculation, and I'm starting to think maybe we get both Foo Fighters and Muse. I'm willing to bet both bands have been on AC/Superfly's radar for some time.
On a side note, this Van Halen tour is kinda scaring me. Hope 'roo doesn't waste money on a band like that.
Friday: Foo Fighters Saturday: Muse (Eminem slot), Beach Boys (Buffalo Springfield slot) Sunday: Phish

Lil Wayne wasn't that close to headliner, and drake is smaller. Unless you have a different definition of headliner which is possible

i said he's close to headliner, not an actual one. I think in a couple years he could be, as could weezy. Drake is a bigger name than Lil Wayne right now on the charts, and he's the new wave of popular rap. I say this as someone who hates weezy, drake, and minaj.

The only reason I think Muse won't headline is because they've toured so much in the past 2 to 3 years and seem to be taking a year off. I'd throw another name in there if I had one I felt confident about in any way. Radiohead? Just wishful thinking I'm sure.
This is the way I see it happening as of now and I think most would agree.
Friday: Foo Fighters or RHCP Saturday: Radiohead, Watch The Throne, Paul McCartney, Prince, The Who, or The Beach Boys > a LN a la Jay-Z (All wishful but I think all of these could happen) Sunday: Phish
Saturday could come out of left field and most likely will, but I think Foo Fighters/RHCP and Phish are the most logical predictions for Friday and Sunday right now

Would you put RHCP as a Friday or Saturday type act, according to this? Everyone seems to be pushing Foo lately, but I see RHCP just as possible, at this point.
Yeah your right. They slipped my mind. I would put RHCP as a Friday act, but that is my opinion. I could see them playing Friday instead of Foo Fighters, but I think it will be one of those.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. LN Hip Hop? I agree that Foo and Phish seem most likely for those two days. Also that Saturday is way too hard to figure out at this point in time. Their are literally so many acts out there touring that could play Saturday night. Which is why a couple weeks ago, and still at this point, I haven't dismissed the idea of a pretty big year for Roo.

I just meant a big LN act in that slot. And I know Saturday is hard to predict thats why I said it will most likely come out of left field

Yeah, I was agreeing. Hopefully McCartney. I'm pretty sure that would make my year.
Radiohead - WTT - Phish (2 sets) - Tool Peter Gabriel - MMJ - Disco Biscuits - Skrillex
Fri: Radiohead > Tool (LN) Peter Gabriel > MMJ (LN) Sat: (Insert random band MTV wants to sell more albums for like Black Keys) > WTT Disco Biscuits > Phish (LN) Skrillex (LN in a tent) Sun: Phish (closer)
In this scenario, what band would you put in the Black Keys spot? Maybe (yuck) Foster The People...?
