Alright, I mostly disagree with a lot of the "cynical hipster dickbag's" opinions around here, but I've got to agree with Karasko on this TruRoo guy. I just pulled up all of TruRoo's posts and here is what we have learned from this guy:
1. He is a 19 year old intern meaning he was born in 1992 2. He sat in as a Director of Operations for a Pretty Lights concert. I don't know how the music industry works, but I highly doubt a 19 year old would be allowed that much responsibility. In order to be even considered a Director of Operations in my field you're looking at 30, the EARLIEST. 3. He saw System of A Down at Ozzfest in 2002, which means he was ten years old. I don't ever remember seeing that many ten year olds at Ozzfest. 4. I'm paraphrasing here but when people were talking about Paul Simon and Neil Diamond, he wouldn't like them on the farm, but twenty years ago his opinion would have been different.
I mean, predicting Skrillex is going to be on the line up is pretty much a given and quite frankly him being billed in the top ten isn't that far of a stretch. Realistically what electronic artist would get billed above him that has a good chance of playing Bonnaroo this year. Bassnectar, Pretty Lights are pretty much out. Justice is in Europe, Daft Punk highly unlikely there. Deadmau5 seems 50/50 since he was there two years ago, so honestly there isn't much above him that has a shot at playing. Now we can argue Skrillex is garbage all we want, but regardless people will cram into a tent/stage to see this guy. Especially if he is the only EDM type music there. I saw him at a Lolla after party and mutherquackers went nuts to this guy.
So either TruRoois lying about his job, he is lying about his age or he is lying about everything. Who knows, come February I could be eating my words...
Sir, not being an ass, but (as cheesy at it sounds) I was pretty much born & raised in the music industry. I've attended shows since a newborn and know a good bit of what I am talking about when it comes to music. I graduated HS at 15 and UGA this past year; getting an internship (which I wouldn't call an "internship" because I get paid a good bit) wasn't shit for me, though I am more than highly satisfied with it. Whoever doubts me can eat their words here this February. Til' then call me out on whatever guys, it won't hurt a thing.
They announced the Bamboozle line up the other day and Skrillex is a headliner..
I thought that was a joke lineup at first, that's the worst thing I've ever seen.
He isn't a LN Tent act anymore. And in fact they also announced just last sunday that hes playing Terminal 5, Roseland, Pacha, and Webster Hall and all are already sold out!
If Skrillex is on the lineup he is on the Which Stage at this point.
Haha well if past years are any indication there has to be at least one major hip hop act.. Doubt we'll get Watch The Throne or Dr Dre; Drake will be there but I doubt he'll be the biggest act in the genre represented at the fest.
I say either Diddy, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, or Lauryn Hill are gonna fill that spot.. I just decided to throw out Diddy because I think he's a possibility not many ppl are talking about... Plus hearing Mo Money Mo Problems and All About The Benjamins will provide great lulz
Drake/Rick Ross. Pick one.
This.
There is no way any of those names would be billed above drake. Diddy, maybe, but does he even perform any more?
Also, I agree that these predictions are totally pointless. The off-topic conversations in this thread are the most interesting.
I just ignore the name, because this is pretty much the General Conversation Thread about Bonnaroo.

Gonna crash at my friends beach house in Avon all weekend and get drunk. I know the crowd is gonna be pretty horrible and musically the line up kind of sucks.. But cmon look at that line up, realize its on a jersey boardwalk/beach with a bunch of drunken slobs, and tell me it's not going to be crazy fun.

Doubts you about what?
I really hope you are kidding, if not I'd consider reading the past page or 2 then what I responded to...

I hope you're joking, or else I'm gonna crawl through these interwebs and smack ya in da faaace.
Dada Life & Tiesto were quoted for the position by AC and basically replied with "fuck that" when Tiesto wanted $1.5 mil & Dada wanted $1.2 mil, I find these prices outrageous. Zed's Dead & Knife Party were quoted as well, but no replies yet that I am aware of.
lol are you joking those guys aren't worthy of me peeing on them let alone getting paid.

Why? Because you are jealous that I'm going? I'll bring you back a Mac Miller tee brah ;D

noone is worthy of getting peed on by Danny DeVito. A-Listers these days...
And several pages pass by of nonsense. I do love this time of year!
NONSENSE?! Well if a lively debate about whether Skrillex is popular, if TruRoo is a troll, and if paying off security guards to bend the rules is ethical = nonsense to you.. well then i just don't know what.. What would you have us talk about?! WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU LOVE ME?!?!?!
Hey TruRoo who else did you hear is playing other then Skrillex this year?
I'm sure this is sarcasm. But.. Skrillex is all from AM so far. Possibly Zed's Dead & Knife Party, no response after they were quoted; maybe they'll be in pending for the next week or two.
I would imagine Knife Party would be at EDC that weekend, and really I'm surprised Skrillex ISNT. Only thing I can guess is, he plays Fri night at Roo, then flies to Vegas and does EDC Sat night.
Well apparently that is decided Trey addressed the audience at tonight's show and said Phish will be the nly headliner all three nights with a LN What and Sunday acoustic set.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

We're still working on contract negotiations with EDC with many of the artists. What they are offering for Skrillex for a HL position is kind of ridiculously low considering what insomnia events has payed for acts like Tiesto to HL. Most liklely his team will agree here soon with their choice & we'll see how it goes.
