My bad. I was unaware of this. In December 2010, several more of Presley's albums received certifications from the RIAA. As result, Elvis again surpassed Brooks. As 2011, RIAA lists Presley's sales at 130.5 million and Brooks' sales at 128 million. So... at one time he was number one, but number two all time isn't too shabby either.

Waitwaitwait... what about MJ!?
Ok actually, (without looking it up, so this is just me rambling) I would guess Micheal Jackson would have the record for world wide sales, but Presley would win for US sales only. That would actually make sense.
Actually according to wikipedia the worldwide list for solo artist goes.
1. Elvis Presley 202.1 Million Certified 2. Garth Brooks 165.4 Million Certified 3. Madonna 157.8 Million Certified 4. Michael Jackson 155.8 Million Certified
while on the country subject, how about some Hank Williams Jr.? I, for one, would love some Bocephus in the top southern/country spot.
Prince*Phish*Rage Against the Machine*Outkast*Beach Boys*the Raconteurs*Massive Attack*the Shins*Modest Mouse*Skrillex*Hank Williams Jr.*Rammstein*Adele*Sigur Ros*TV on the Radio
Didn't good 'ol Hank go on some racist or Obama/Hitler rant or something? I forget what it was, but ABC pulled his Monday Night Football song because of it.

Ahh. This doesn't include his albums with the Jackson 5 (which it shouldn't seeing as it's solo careers). Makes sense. So depending on what numbers you count, he still could be the biggest selling artist of all time, just not actually in his solo career... if that makes sense.
The pizza place on the first floor of my building has a flat screen that shows nothing but late 60s to mid 80s live performances. Yesterday they were playing a Jackson 5 concert that was phenomenal.

1. If you ignore MJ turning into a huge freak, his music is straight up full of awesomeness. Both, solo and with J5.
2. Reading posts that are complaints about the off-topic conversation in this thread, is 10 times more annoying than the off-topic conversation. Seeing as how your post is also off-topic, it would much better serve your cause to just post about something on-topic. Like....
3. If Bonnaroo did bring the Black Keys back for a third straight year, I would not mind at all. El Camino is a bad ass album. I can't find a single song that isn't good.

I was thinking about this earlier... I love the black keys...I always have. thats why I bought their new cd..and this is what i have to say about el camino..and their past couple albums for that matter..everything since attack and release has been a different sound than everything prior to that album. I think the black keys are overwhelmed by creativity. they want to make awesome music and they are so capable of doing it...but they are going in the wrong direction (in my opinion.) Maybe its because i think the Keys are absolutely fucking awesome when it comes to heavy roots blues...anything off Rubber Factory or Chulahoma is pure gold. their new stuff is so.... poppy..and different..i want to like their new stuff so bad..but its a different black keys...sorry. that being said Ill still buy their albums and go see em live cause i know they can bring it.
I do really like the 4th song off the new album. Little Black Submarines...its a legit track..
I think the album is stellar. I think they are going for a bigger sound, and do a great job of accomplishing it. I'm not saying you are like this, but it's beyond typical when a band gets later in their career, their early fans turn on them for becoming more ”poppy” or ”mainstream”. I have never bought that argument. I would never want a band to make an album that sounded like their last one. Furthermore, band members themselves want to grow and continue to create new sounds. So, of course its a ”different” Black Keys.

As far as Garth Brooks goes it is unlikely it will ever happen. If he were to play a festival it would likely be the one an hour up the road. That said if Bonnaroo decided to have a country headliner Garth Brooks may be the most listenable pop-country option. I'm not saying I like his stuff but it is better than most of the shit.
My tastes would prefer if they held on to booking the old classics of country and the alt-country innovators like they have been doing for 10 years. I'm still dreaming of the Jason Isbell -> DBTs back to back sets

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
