The version of RHCP that would take What Stage in 2012 is a marginal facsimile of the band that headlined a tour with Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam opening in 1990. The energy, vibe, and power are gone.....
Bonnaroo 2008-2013
0ct 11 Pearl Jam
Oct 12 Pearl Jam
March 16 Arcade Fire
April 29 Arcade Fire
Sept 4 Wilco
Sept 9 The Hold Steady

So how many RHCP shows have you seen on their current tour?
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I swore them off after Californication... Zombie Kiedis kinda hurt my heart. Flea still brought it, and I positioned myself smack in front of Frusciante in the pit, but they just don't bring it anymore.....

I have seen them 3 times dating back to One Hot Minute and not once have they impressed. I'd be about as excited to see them on the line-up as I was to see the Beastie Boys in 2009. No thanks.
A Moby Live set would make me a very very happy man!
this might be the first thing you have said that I agree with.
Not really, but your love for Skrillex scares me.
On another topic: At first I was shocked that anyone has seen the RHCP since 1992, but then I remembered that there is such a thing as "radio play" for music still. Sigh.
and that few of you were old enough to see a concert in 92
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon

Beastie Boys rocked it. How could you not respect the Beasties?

I certainly don't want to speak for the guy, but he didn't say he didn't respect the Beasties, just that he wasn't excited for their show at Roo in 09.
I say this because there are a lot of artists that I totally respect, but would not purchase albums or concert tickets for.

If you think they rocked it, you were at a different show than I was. The Beastie's roo set was one of the most disappointing things I have ever witnessed.

I agree, very uninspiring. In fact, all 3 preheadliners in '09 were weak. Wilco was the best of the bunch, and I really don't like Wilco.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I agree, that Beasties set was HORRIBLEEEEEEEEEEE. I mean who fucks up the encore 3 times and has to restart, and its fucking Sabotage, the song you've done the most in your career!

The 09 Beastie's set is one of my biggest Roo surprises ever. And I mean that in a good way. I wasn't expecting much going in, friends brought me to the pit and I ended up loving it.

Sweet. I was starting to wonder why I had a great time and no one else did.
Well that's just a silly comparison in the first place. I like the beasties, they're a good time, but they aren't even in the same league as David Byrne, he's a damn genius.
How do I opt-out of Karma? I've tried numerous times but it never goes through. Getting a negative just for saying I enjoyed beastie boys set is pretty ridiculous, as is this whole karma thing.
