Sometimes I forget that not everyone around me has the same level of nerdiness level about music and stuff
I mentioned GG Allin in studio today and no one else had heard of him (including the teacher)
I guess that's probably a good thing, but I was still disappointed
My cousin saw him shit on the stage and throw it at people.
It's hard being cool and knowing real shit!
I saw GG a few months before he passed. I had no real idea of what to expect it was gonna be wild. I was wrong. The cops were tipped off about his performances and showed up both in uniform and plain clothes. He spouted of a few slurs and played a few songs. Then he just left. Easily one of the most tame shows I had ever seen.
The Dwarves actively baited the audience and threw beer bottles at the crowd (unopened, mind you). They then proceed to run out the door to never return. This was all before the first song. So technically, while I did see The Dwarves but I didn't see The Dwarves.
I work at a major foodservice packaging company. Today, while drafting a memo for a product introduction, I learned something that I found so amusing.
When a product is developed that could act as a replacement for another product, we predict what amount of business on the new product will be a direct result of lost business on the existing product (the customers who switch over).
We refer to this transfer of business as "cannibalization" and I laughed about that for a solid 5 minutes.
In day to day life, is there anything worse than lifting your tush from the toilet seat only to discover it was wet?
UGH.

I don't know what album we're talking about and I'm not going to find out and listen to it, because I'll almost certainly like it less than Rothric. But I guess we'll never find out.
Fugazi - In On the Kill Taker
I heard it's one of the first emo albums.
I listened to this for the first time today and thought, "This is alternative. No, it's too punk to be alternative. No, it's too metal to be punk. What did I just say? It's not metal at all." It's like some guys who listened to alternative, but liked the Ramones, then got some instruments they didn't know how to play, then made an album.
I don't hate it. I won't be adding it to my Spotify lists.

You do realize Frusciante has solo projects associated with members of Fugazi and is huge fan of them? Not only do they know how to play, the guy in your avatar has used one of their instruments on an album. That's all aside from Ian being the driving force behind one of the most influential punk bands of all time.

This hurts. I know Frusciante's music better than most, and, now that you remind me, I believe the word Fugazi sounds familiar because I've heard him say it on one of his bootlegs. I've whined to Maizy for years that "John left the band"... Dude, you left RHCP because rock music doesn't "do it for you"? Now you're going to make electronic music and produce gangsta rap? I don't get it. John and I don't see eye to eye musically, but I love him anyway.

Apparently for her 30th birthday that is coming up, my sister got dressed up and had her picture taken, like a studio session. Is this a thing that people do? I'm sure the photographer is a friend of hers, but it still seems strange to me. But then, I hate all pictures of me, so maybe it's just me.

In the 90s, they called this glamour shots.
Haha, you didn't need to be having a birthday for Glamour Shots!
I still can't quite wrap my head around this. In one of the pictures, she has cake on her face.

Did you pick up the Foregrow EP for RSD last year? It ended up being one of my favorite RSD pick ups.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I love The Empyrean and everything before it. Letur-Lefr is the last JF album I bought. I should give the electronic stuff another chance.

Being who I am, I don't see this as being weird. Honestly, I kind of get doing a photo shoot at 30. You are at your prime, no reason not to document it. I mean I have had tons of photo shoots in my lifetime. I did a boudoir one after my 13 year relationship went poof and a couple pinup shoots and some for roller derby as well. I have never done one specifically for a birthday, but I did one when I found out I was pregnant. Plus, I have friends who love taking photos and I would always invite them out with us so we would have millions of pictures of the evening.
I never did glamour shots, my mom did photography as a hobby and I lived with a camera in my face, so maybe that is why I am that way? But it could also be that I am a bit narcissist. IDK.
