just moved to brooklyn. having a real hard time restraining myself from going to every single show.
Welcome to NYC! It's not easy to keep a not-empty savings account especially if you're into live shows a lot.
Good luck with trying to keep yourself from buying tickets, I know it's a hard thing to do.
thankfully living in richmond got me used to only seeing a show once every couple of months. if I had moved here right after living in minneapolis I would have *zero* self control.
I don't have anything on my docket until sylvan esso, and I'm going to try my hardest to not even look to see what else is coming to town before that.

I was out for lunch. Somebody came in to get their check. They got told no because apparently they can't open the safe during peak hours. It made me think about how long it's been since I've been paid with an actual physical check. You forget the benefits of direct deposit sometimes.

Totally understandable conundrum. As much as I complain about the lack of shows here at times, I couldn't physically or finally handle having three shows a week I wanted to go to.

I know you don't wanna look at upcoming concerts, but if you ever wanna check once in a while:

Few years ago, I did seven-shows-in-a-row for some reason I don't know why. After the seventh night, I was so tired that (and I didn't consume alcohol or something else) I hated myself for my greediness and never tried such a thing ever again.
If you have HBOgo, the old ones are available there. We just started watching them again last night. (We also have all the seasons on DVD, but all our DVDs are packed now.)

but also, the ability to track interested concerts is nice. I've always had a google doc or desktop note to track shows, which can be pretty inefficient sometimes.

I actually get my paycheck (via direct deposit) a few days before my timesheet is due. No comprendo. I also have to claim 8 hours to take off a summer Friday where the work day is only 5 hours.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I started getting the NYC Bowery email newsletter, which is strange because I've never been to a NYC venue smaller than MSG (or any NYC show in about four years.)
The amount of shows down there is mind boggling. Easily five times more than Boston on any given night. I would have assumed given tour schedules and proximity that it wouldn't be such a difference in numbers.

We had a house inspection yesterday. They just said that we would hear something within four days, but I have already been compulsively checking my e-mail. I'm so nervous. The results of this inspection will have a huge impact on how easy or difficult the next month or so will be.

my friends cousin sent us to buy $1000 worth of fireworks monday, so that was pretty cool. never even seen the shit we've bought, because who in their right mind would spend that type of money unless you're rich.

IS there a way to get someone to quit bugging you via LinkedIn?
1. I don't use it 2. My creeeeeeeeeeeeepy old ex-neighbor is trying to add me to his, and he is the creepiest creep creep creep ever and it creeps me out to even see the daily pestering emails.

I'm the same way, so I totally get it.
Fingers crossed for you that it's as smooth as possible!

Thanks! I don't know of anything hugely wrong with our house, so I'm hoping that it only be relatively minor stuff they want fixed, but things like this always makes me so nervous!

If you don't use it like you don't have an account then block that email address in you email client. Sorry if I misunderstood the first time I know alot of folks who don't "use" it but still have accounts.

Yeah I unsubscribed, fingers crossed! Apparently I was "subscribed" by someone inviting me to use LinkedIn. Annoying!
Not to rehash last week's brouhaha over use of the N word ending in A. But what happens when I see Rich Chigga in a couple of months? Is anyone not Asian supposed to be chanting "Chigga!" or singing along with the line, "You don't want to fuck with a Chigga like me."?
