Based on what we know (the original tweet and the response) it sounds like Morello was being a dick and trying to damage a business's reputation. What really bugs me is the "Morello gets trolled by..." part. How is that trolling? It's a response to an accusation. I hate the internet sometimes.
I don't know much about the "music" but in a way you have to respect Aoki. Most of the DJs press play and try to pretend they are doing something. He has now pretense of doing anything live, he presses play and then spends the next 5 minutes floating around the audience on a life raft.
I used to say I missed a lot from earplugs (but I only had access to the foam 30dB types way back then), but I miss the sound of silence a lot more now...
I've been wearing mine since the middle of '08 and have recommended them on this board a few times. I envision a day when I'll be able to spot all of you at Roo because we will all be protecting our hearing with Etymotics. If I can see them underneath those Panda Hats.
I'll admit that I'm terrible and I only use them when necessary. At this point I feel like I have enough experience with my ears and loud music that I know the limit of the muscle. Probably should still don them more often, but I still love when the music is pumping just on the edge

I don't know all that much about Morello but those tweets are bizarre. "Oh, I can't get in here immediately? Better accuse the restaurant of having shitty policies." I just can't believe that's the first bullet he puts in the chamber after someone is rude to him.
And I agree with you on the use of "trolled." "Owned" would've been more accurate. Or if you want an Upworthy style headline you could go with, "This Restaurant Owner Called Out Tom Morello For Being Rude And It Was Totally Awesome."

Upworthy started it, but now EVERYONE does that. So annoying. I refuse to watch any video with a title like that unless I see it being repeatedly shared.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I agree. If an article has some cloying headline like that then I pretty much refuse to click on it. I'm an adult dammit. I don't need some copy writer telling me what is and isn't amazing.

Upworthy and Buzzfeed have caused a LOT of headlines written like that on sites I used to love. It gets views/clicks and so they all follow suit. I'm seeing a TON of useless lists and 90's nostalgia articles everywhere I look.

Looks like pigsnzen was touting them here way back in '07.

I bought them. They're coming with me to my next show (assuming they're here on time) and I can almost guarantee that they'll stay in my bag the whole time.
Not weird. As a musician and (hahaha) engineer I consider my hearing to be my biggest asset, so obviously it needs to be taken care of. I have a custom pair of these for when I DJ, go to concerts, etc.
If you don't mind me asking, what did it cost you for the appointment with the audiologist for the molding?
Total cost for everything was around $150. The audiologist I went to already dealt with the brand though, I think if you go to a third-party and just get the molds done then you have to send them to Etymotics it is a little more expensive. Definitely worth every penny though.

That's not too bad then, will definitely need to look into those soon. Will be curious to see how their performance compares to the $15 ones.

Ya'll, I have just come up a product idea that may fund our Inforoo commune... socks with built-in insoles! My Google search is not finding a similar product out there now.
(If it does already exist someone please send me a link because I need some)

This makes me think of either slippers or those grippy socks they give to people in the hospital. I take it that's not what you mean?

Those are slipper socks. I mean a sock that has an actual insole built-in. Or at least a little pocket to put the insole in. I have some vintage cowboy boots that I love but they are really narrow and uncomfortable. I can't get an insole in there. I can get my foot (with a sock on) in there so I figure if I had an insole in my sock, I wouldn't have to worry about it. Or maybe an insole with a strap so it can attach to your foot??
socks are THE. WORST. I imagine some of those expensive running socks have some sort of sole. So like slippers but thinner to wear in shoes? You could sell them at the fancy feet and back stores! you may be on to something

I am all for funding our commune. Let's do this. In the meantime, would these help?

Get on a prototype. I'm ready to get out of society.
