Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Random thought (I realize this is precisely the place to bring up such things, but it is just a way sudden shift in topic): what are people's thoughts on Myers Briggs? Do you think it is BS, really accurate, intriguing but nothing to rely on...somewhere in between these?
I think I was an INFP when I took it last year. I remember scoring every possible point for introvert and completely splitting the points for the middle two.
I haven't taken that test in years and have no idea what I am. I need to retake it. How long does it take? I think I am 100% alone in my office after 3:00 or so...
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
ESTJ Extravert(56%) Sensing(88%) Thinking(38%) Judging(44%) You have moderate preference of Extraversion over Introversion (56%) You have strong preference of Sensing over Intuition (88%) You have moderate preference of Thinking over Feeling (38%) You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (44%)

I think it can be a really interesting tool to understanding why people do what they do, but it shouldn't be a crutch or an excuse for anything. At least for me, an INTJ, it's really accurate on most things

Like five minutes, if that! There are a few abbreviated free versions online - the full one isn't online, that's the one that takes a longgg time

I pretty much always come up as INTJ, with the N and T being only slight preferences, the J being a little bit stronger, and the I coming out at 100% or very close to it every time.

Okay so there are multiple INTJs in this thread. Have you had a romantic relationship with an ENFP that you know of? Or friendship even. Idk, I just started believing a lot more in the validity of Myers Briggs compatibility claims as I read up on what my ideal match is supposed to be and why. There's a lot on the interwebs about it, but heres one example that discusses the INTJ/ESFP tendency towards attracting each other. oddlydevelopedtypes.com/enfp_survival

Clueless in romance - This antipathy to rules and tendency to over-analyze and be judgmental, even arrogant, all adds up to a personality type that is often clueless in dating. Having a new relationship last long enough for INTJs to apply the full force of their analysis on their potential partner's thought processes and behaviors can be challenging. Trying harder in the ways that INTJs know best can only make things worse, and it's unfortunately common for them to simply give up the search. Ironically, this is when they're at their best, and most likely to attract a partner.

ISTJ. I'm pretty sure I took a similar quiz many years ago and got the same result. Makes sense to me. I'm also the quintessential Virgo, even though my birthdate places me as a Libra.
ESFJ Extravert (67%) Sensing (50%) Feeling (62%) Judging (11%) You have distinct preference of Extraversion over Introversion (67%) You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (50%) You have distinct preference of Feeling over Thinking (62%) You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (11%)
Guardians of birthdays, holidays and celebrations, ESFJs are generous entertainers. They enjoy and joyfully observe traditions and are liberal in giving, especially where custom prescribes.
All else being equal, ESFJs enjoy being in charge. They see problems clearly and delegate easily, work hard and play with zest. ESFJs, as do most SJs, bear strong allegiance to rights of seniority. They willingly provide service (which embodies life's meaning) and expect the same from others.
ESFJs are easily wounded. And when wounded, their emotions will not be contained. They by nature "wear their hearts on their sleeves," often exuding warmth and bonhomie, but not infrequently boiling over with the vexation of their souls. Some ESFJs channel these vibrant emotions into moving dramatic performances on stage and screen.
Strong, contradictory forces consume the ESFJ. Their sense of right and wrong wrestles with an overwhelming rescuing, 'mothering' drive. This sometimes results in swift, immediate action taken upon a transgressor, followed by stern reprimand; ultimately, however, the prodigal is wrested from the gallows of their folly, just as the noose tightens and all hope is lost, by the very executioner!
An ESFJ at odds with self is a remarkable sight. When a decision must be made, especially one involving the risk of conflict (abhorrent to ESFJs), there ensues an in-house wrestling match between the aforementioned black-and-white Values and the Nemesis of Discord. The contender pits self against self, once firmly deciding with the Right, then switching to Prudence to forestall hostilities, countered by unswerving Values, ad exhaustium, winner take all.
As caretakers, ESFJs sense danger all around--germs within, the elements without, unscrupulous malefactors, insidious character flaws. The world is a dangerous place, not to be trusted. Not that the ESFJ is paranoid; 'hyper-vigilant' would be more precise. And thus they serve excellently as protectors, outstanding in fields such as medical care and elementary education.
I agree with about half or less of the above. Maybe I should try a different one!

You are right on the line on the J, read the ESFP description too maybe its closer

Yes, but all this is precisely why I found dating an INTJ to be a winding, complicated journey that I didn't want to end (but it did, more by way of distance and being in different places in our lives than anything else). On the surface I am enthusiastic and warm and a bit scattered brained but very imaginative. It isn't that I'm not that "under the surface," but to get from that outward part of myself into my most inner self takes a lot of work and isn't something I reveal to many people. I loved having the reciprocal adventure of "I don't quite get you but I'm loving figuring you out" with the INTJ I dated. And some of our best communication was non-verbal - after some time together, we just kind of "got it" with each other even if we couldn't personally relate to why that's how the other functioned.
My advice to you is trying out an ENFP or ENFJ. I think the patience that a lot of ENFs have is critical to dating and INT.

ISTP, If drinking counts at non verbal communication thats spot on.
"they generally express themselves non-verbally. When they do actually verbalize, ISTPs are masters of the one-liner, often showing flashes of humor in the most tense situations; this can result in their being seen as thick-skinned or tasteless."
I do like your site a lot better! I agree with the majority of it actually. I did glance at the ESFP as well. There are definitely similarities, but a lot doesn't match too. Both think I am centered on fashion. <shrug> Pretty minor thing, but I just wonder where they got that from those questions.

I usually come up as ISTJ, but near the border of INTJ.
Hmm, lots of INTJs up in here. Sad year for me to miss Roo - could be missing an introduction to my soulmate in effect.
Of course the Myers Briggs really just tests for tendencies and modes of processing, not your actual personality. So it is by no means the end all be all. But I will say that ive come to realize that for the most part, I don't like dating fellow Extroverts or Feelers, and that I tend to connect more organically with other Ns. I don't find the P/J part to matter as much; I think it is the most context dependent component.

You're the exact opposite of me. Opposites attract?
Haha, I feel like mine is spot on. It talks about how I like facts and can be insensitive. Whenever I'm debating with someone I like to say, "I don't care about your opinion I have facts." This is probably why I only have internet friends.
It also talks about how I hate commitment and relationships, reassurance that we are got this marriage thing down.
