Clueless in romance - This antipathy to rules and tendency to over-analyze and be judgmental, even arrogant, all adds up to a personality type that is often clueless in dating. Having a new relationship last long enough for INTJs to apply the full force of their analysis on their potential partner's thought processes and behaviors can be challenging. Trying harder in the ways that INTJs know best can only make things worse, and it's unfortunately common for them to simply give up the search. Ironically, this is when they're at their best, and most likely to attract a partner.
Yes, but all this is precisely why I found dating an INTJ to be a winding, complicated journey that I didn't want to end (but it did, more by way of distance and being in different places in our lives than anything else). On the surface I am enthusiastic and warm and a bit scattered brained but very imaginative. It isn't that I'm not that "under the surface," but to get from that outward part of myself into my most inner self takes a lot of work and isn't something I reveal to many people. I loved having the reciprocal adventure of "I don't quite get you but I'm loving figuring you out" with the INTJ I dated. And some of our best communication was non-verbal - after some time together, we just kind of "got it" with each other even if we couldn't personally relate to why that's how the other functioned.
My advice to you is trying out an ENFP or ENFJ. I think the patience that a lot of ENFs have is critical to dating and INT.
Sounds good in theory, but I take the INTJ thing even further with being really shitty at meeting new people.

Im an ENTP. I have gotten that every time I've taken the test.
Rummy 500 site describes that as "Bouncing on a pogo stick down the thin line dividing genius from madness." then goes into some weird tangent about disappearing to another dimension when the apocalypse comes. not too far from my stoned ramblings in high school creative writing class, actually.
You're the exact opposite of me. Opposites attract?
Haha, I feel like mine is spot on. It talks about how I like facts and can be insensitive. Whenever I'm debating with someone I like to say, "I don't care about your opinion I have facts." This is probably why I only have internet friends.
It also talks about how I hate commitment and relationships, reassurance that we are got this marriage thing down.
Yeah one of the ones I read said I am a social butterfly- floating around and making sure I say hi and talk to everyone. Reason #8003 our impending marriage is perfect. I can float around and talk to whomever I want without you getting pissed off at me. That is truly how I am in social situations.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
just got to the venue after getting my wristband and I'm now the 6th person in line!!!!!!!! looking into jack whites eyes, here I come!!!
I'm not exactly president of the Jack fan club, but that is absolutely fantastic!!! I am so happy for you. You're going to have a FANTASTIC TIME!!! I am going to Twiddle tonight and my friend (whomever I have never really hung out with before- he's a server at my regular bar) is going to give me a ride. He goes, "I'm aiming to be there before the venue opens to ensure a good spot. Is that cool with you...?" Ummmmm. YES. That's 100000000% cool with me.

I usually come up as ISTJ, but near the border of INTJ.
Hmm, lots of INTJs up in here. Sad year for me to miss Roo - could be missing an introduction to my soulmate in effect.
Of course the Myers Briggs really just tests for tendencies and modes of processing, not your actual personality. So it is by no means the end all be all. But I will say that ive come to realize that for the most part, I don't like dating fellow Extroverts or Feelers, and that I tend to connect more organically with other Ns. I don't find the P/J part to matter as much; I think it is the most context dependent component.
Also, this is his absoutely fantastic FB profile picture:
And let me say that his pornstache got way creepier before he finally shaved it. This pic is nothin'. There's also this pic, but I still don't think it's at the creepiest:
I just really wish he added lazers to the pic. Now THAT would have been the best EVARR.

Rummy 500 If you're at all the type to make judgments based on actual science, then you should take the results of the Myers-Briggs with a grain of salt. The test is valid in its assessment of Introversion/Extraversion, but its assessment of the other three traits is markedly less valid. It also lacks reliability in that people often get different results at different times - I got INFJ this time, but I also have gotten INFP many times - this suggests that what it is purporting to be a trait (a stable personality characteristic over time) is actually less stable and more dependent on one's mindset of the moment. Aside from the I/E of the first trait, the other letters shouldn't be given much more faith than horoscopes (also note that the validity and reliability tends to go down for each letter, with J/P being the most flip-floppy - this is also why the percentages for the less two tend to drop off considerably). But as a self-rebuttal, I also want to say that this flaw may have more to do with the notion of whether or not Feeling/Thinking and Judging/Perceiving are actual traits, and less to do with the test's ability to measure them.
That being said, the Myers-Briggs is probably my favorite personality test, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing what different people get. But I wouldn't go basing any important life or dating decisions on it, unless you know that you absolutely wouldn't be able to date an Introvert or Extravert.
Edit: Though I will say that my profile on the site Bacon linked to is pretty spot-on, though I'll need to look at the other personality types as well to see if it's just one-size-fits-all stuff.

I used to think packing was hell and then I had children. I'm revising my statement as we speak.
i find that if you can get their feet tucked behind their heads, they lay a bit flatter and stay compact. you can stuff your socks and undies around them to make a nice flat layer on the bottom of your bag, and lay your pants and shirts on top to keep from getting too wrinkled.
Haha interestingly enough, I just popped onto reddit and this was on my front page:
token07 can confirm that I do indeed say "hmm" a lot.

Sorry for choosing the lazy route, but I leave work in ten minutes and still need to so some dishes and such. Has anyone finished an excel or otherwise printable schedule yet? I'd love to print it to take home with me for the weekend. Thannnkk yooouuuu

I'm an ENFP - of course I don't make judgments based on actual science
No, I definitely realize that it should all be taken with a grain of salt. But I think it is a little more accurately predictive than you express here; I have never ever taken a test (online with shorter versions, or the full test itself) that did not give me ENFP or ENFJ. And when I read the descriptions for the two, I am split down the middle between the two. I don't relate really to any of the other 16 types/their descriptions, for myself that is.
And I do know that I don't like dating other Extroverts, just as I prefer to be the more emotionally in-tune than the person I'm romantically involved with, because I find it rewarding and engaging to slowly pull that out of an Introverted Thinker. That isn't to say that I couldn't fall in love with and have a very happy, successful relationship with someone who isn't an INT - but one thing that cuts all romantic interest off for me, immediately, is if I get bored or feel like everything is too predictable. Most of the complex INTs I've known, romantically or otherwise, keep me intrigued and on my toes and always contemplating the 'other side" of things to which I don't immediately relate.
Wait but who is the picture of with the stoic looking cat?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
ESFJs are people persons - they love people. They are warmly interested in others. They use their Sensing and Judging characteristics to gather specific, detailed information about others, and turn this information into supportive judgments. They want to like people, and have a special skill at bringing out the best in others. They are extremely good at reading others, and understanding their point of view. The ESFJ's strong desire to be liked and for everything to be pleasant makes them highly supportive of others. People like to be around ESFJs, because the ESFJ has a special gift of invariably making people feel good about themselves.

The ENFP personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but unlike Explorers, they are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, the 7% of the population that they comprise can certainly be felt in any crowd.
