Dawes takes the material to another level live. Taylor has some really good guitar solos and Griffin brings a lot of energy on the drums. Their Sonic Stage set in '10 was a great way to start the day and damn if that night set at Troo wasn't overflowing.
He does bring alot of energy, but he makes these faces that look like he is having trouble taking a crap.
Taylor remindes me of robert deniro, and the bass guy wesly looks like a young jimmy page. Ill be forsaking a better spot at radiohead for these guys for sure.
Dawes is in my top 5, and it is a bummer that they go on at the same time as Rodrigo y Gabriela. Rod Y is amazing but I have seen Dawes and loved it. Seen them in a small setting I am sure on the farm it will be great. Plus I listen to them a lot and not so much Rod Y.
This show was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad I decided to leave my friends at Rod y Gab and see Dawes play with the sun going down over the ferris wheel. One of the best moments I've ever had at the farm was probably during When My Time Comes.
Both Dawes sets were the best I saw all weekend. So much emotion, so much energy, so fucking dynamic.... Wow. Some of the best shows those guys have ever played.

Love Dawes but missed their main stage set. Had to see St. Vincent. I've seen Dawes a bunch and am seeing them at Newport Folk next month. Caught two songs of their sonic stage set which made me happy. A good surprise.
Both of their sets combined were one of the highlights of the weekend. I've been wanting to see them for 2 years or so and finally got my chance to see one of my favorite bands. They definitely didn't disappoint. Great energy, great sing-alongs, tons of fun. I love that they got the chance to do an encore on the Sonic Stage. I assume that doesn't happen very often.
Oh, and the new song they played was excellent. Officially pumped for the new record.

Dawes was awesome. Loved them. I had no idea that their drummer was so good, and that he is Goldsmith's brother, and that he sings. And I love those faces he makes while playing. I couldn't figure it out. Was he yelling at the drums or just jamming out?
