To whoever said Rancid would be a good add - YES. I saw them with Rise Against back when I was really into Rise Against, and Rancid totally blew them away, and ever since then I've been a huge fan.
And about Cudi: I saw him twice in '09 and then Bonnaroo '10. Both of his '09 performances were WAY better than that Bonnaroo sh*t show of a performance. Those '09 performances were pretty incredible, but ever since that Bonnaroo set, I haven't been digging him. Kind of ruined it for me.

after stewing it over for two weeks, here are a few categories of additions i'd like to see:
relative unknowns who would be great fits for the Roo: US Royalty Candy Claws
small bands i'd just love to see: Moonface Cass McCombs Tanlines Juliana Barwick Azelia Banks
headliners that I'm going to probably end up traveling to see this summer and it would be nice if Roo snagged them (even though it's unlikely): NYCH Beck
bands that will be billed too high next year and it'd be nice if Roo got them this year and got it over with (Foster the People division): fun.
Random bands: Rancid Better than Ezra
General line-up holes: established hip-hop acts (a third Roots/Ludacris level act) mainstream EDM - Avicii?
Pipedreams: Godspeed you! Black Emperor
Also, wanted to weigh in on the Kid Cudi discussion, saw him with Major Lazer in 08 at a Lolla late night set and I thought he was fantastic. Haven't spent a lot of time with his albums though.
Low Cut Connie. These guys just released their first album. I love the raw sound and the rawer lyrics. I think they'd be a great Thursday early tent act.

Black Star certainly qualifies.
I'm hoping for Blitzen Trapper, Tame Impala, Heartless Bastards and Dr. Dog. Would love Jack White, Beck, Modest Mouse or Arctic Monkeys but I don't see any of them as likely.

Unfortunately the mainstream EDM act has been more than filled with Skrillex.
That I disagree with. There is lots of room in the line-up for more EDM of any size, and given that Skrillex is so divisive I think Ed Banger style house is a void in the lineup.

This is probably covered but I can't find it. The Clean and Times New Viking are in Chapel Hill on the 8th with no dates after that. Good Saturday or Sunday add.

I'm all for it man, trust me. I would love Avicii. Skrillex is the biggest/most mainstream/most popular name (IMO obiviously) in Electronic Music right now. So in Bonnaroo's eyes, they got the top EDM Artist...so it just makes me think that they are comfortable with what they have with Skrillex. But I do agree we are missing that Bassnectar/Pretty Lights double big name EDM on the bill.
Better than any 1-2 punch of EDM this fest has ever had
Possibly for you personally, but I was speaking more on a mainstream kind of 1-2.
When I said mainstream EDM I guess i was really just thinking of French/Swedish. The line up definitely has lots of good electronic music this year, I was just trying to think of genre holes that could be filled.

Not sure if everyone has seen it, but insider said today that the big name that they were working on late was Neil Young and Crazy Horse. She does not rule them out as a possible addition. Here's the link:
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

If anything, there's zero holes in this line up where hip-hop is concerned; the Roots/Black Star/Ludacris are the "bigger" names, Mac Miller is the B.S. "rap" act that the frat set will love, then you've got a great young/up and coming undercard with Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Das Racist (I might be missing one). That's it for hip hop, methinks.
Totally agree, I blanked on Black Star when I was writing this the first time, and everything below Black Star/Luda/Roots is pretty much saturated.
