OK, so long time since I've been on the forums, but I think I'm going to try and hit up Coachella again this year, as I'll actually be in San Diego come festival time. This year, however, I'm flying solo.
So, I'm wondering if anybody is going to try and have a Camp Inforoo this year. Also, are most people going to be going weekend 1 or 2? Can we get a roll call of some sort? Thanks.
Joey
Welcome back brotha. A roll call is a good idea. I have made zero plans towards going, but I've got my eye on it this year. I have always wanted to go and this would be a good yer for me. I'm waiting to see the lineup before I decide.

I'm going Weekend 1, but not camping.
I'm sure we'll try to work out some meetups closer to the actual festival, especially once the schedule is out
Oh dont get me wrong. I wasnt looking forward at all to having The Stones as a headliner. But it would have given me a chance to see something good during their headlining set.

From the rolling stone magazine mobile news app(and as I posted in the confirmation & speculation threads)
Kevin Mazur/WireImage for Clear Channel The Rolling Stones Are Not Playing Coachella
By Patrick Doyle | January 18, 9:45 PM ET Contrary to strong hints and rumors, the Rolling Stones will not perform at the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a source close to the band tells Rolling Stone.
The evidence was overwhelming: the Indio, California festival appeared on the band's own official app in December under their tour dates section, and festival organizers later used their official Facebook page to post a photo of a stone rolling on the Empire Polo Grounds, where Coachella is held.
Rare and Intimate Pictures of the Rolling Stones
But expect to still see the band on the road in 2013. "There have been quite a few offers," Mick Jagger told us recently after wrapping the bands recent 50th anniversary shows in London, New York and New Jersey. "I'm going to see what's on the table and discuss it with everyone. We'll announce it when we've figured it out." Added Keith Richards, "Really, all you're going to have to do is wait for an announcement . . . We barely got off the starting blocks. It would be dopey to bring things up to this level and say, 'Well, that's that, 50 years, bye-bye.'"

I dunno. Just read it in the Ed mag app, thought it would interest folks(especially after all the inter board anger) so I put it in the speculation, confirmation and coach threads, which apparently was overkill to some, lol.
Seriously. I want to all GRRRRR on the facebook page but I can't because I was just there not too long ago preaching patience and telling people to back off.
Friday Mar 15 TBD Vive Latino with Kings of Leon, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode Foro Sol – Mexico City, Mexico
This site is NOT like Songkick where any user can edit the information. This listing probably isn't real since the Vive Latino festival announced its lineup a month and a half ago (and it doesn't have any of these three on it), so I have no idea what this means...but it's interesting that it popped up this close to the Coachella announcement.

Re-read my post, Phi. I said that there's no way that date is real (as in there's no way those bands are actually playing that festival), but still the fact that it went up on that website seems noteworthy. I doubt it's just totally random; that doesn't make sense.

Seat Geek is not reliable. I have seen it post non-existent shows on their Spotify app. Another time I saw list the shame show on the same night at three different venues.
I think SeatGeeks engine works by spidering third party ticket re-sellers or other sites, and those pages/shows are automatically generated. I don't know or understand the technology before it, but I do know from experience to take SeatGeek with a grain of salt.
And didnt Depeche Mode saw no US shows until after the intl run is over?
Who the hell is Rodriguez and why are people excited?
Long story short: genius musician was hiding out living a simple life in Africa or something and little did he know but music he put out decades prior resurfaced and he started to get a huge fan following. They went to Africa or wherever he was, found him, told him that everyone loved his music and so he came back and started making more. And it kicks ass.
That's my generally understanding of it. I was skeptical until I listened to his stuff on Spotify. He is going to do well at Coach.
