Hilarious that this got revived the day I joined. Radiohead in 2012 was the one act I was dying to see; it converted me and I will attend Roo every year until i'm a Bonnagramps. Chili Peppers were my favorite band growing up, but to me they're not the Peppers without Frusciante (still a good show though). I've only seen MMJ once (Jim James solo a couple times). Was this poll comparing best bonnaroo shows: like MMJ 08 vs Radiohead 06 (or 12? Both sets were nice)? Or just a preference?

This poll was made to bug the sh!t out of the poster named bacon.
You obviously made the correct choice in voting however.

Haha. Its impossible to compare though really. I think each Bonnaroo has had their own magical performance that you'll tell your grandkids about and they both qualify. For the past three years, I'd pick Radiohead, Sir Paul, and Damon Albarn--Elton John close 2nd though. I can easily pick a fave out of these. Fridays are the most magical. Hell as much as people want to hate on Yeezus (I liked it; I knew what was about to happen, its Kanye, but NO WHERE CLOSE to Yeezus or Watch the Throne), I still got to see a little bit of Chvrches, Neutral Milk Hotel, Phoenix, Ice Cube, Disclosure, Tucks Superjam, Die Antwoord, Skrillex, and Chance. Nothing compares to Roo.
Radiohead and not even close. If I bought tickets for both shows a year in advance it is possible at some point I would forget about the MMJ show until I opened a drawer a month before and saw the tickets. I would count down each day until I saw Radiohead.
I love MMJ btw

Apparently a majority in the poll chose incorrectly. MMJ all day, every day. Radiohead is possibly the new Led Zepplin in that they are horribly overrated.
MMJ show - AWESOME
Radiohead show - one of the most dull and snooze worthy shows I have ever seen

My Morning Jacket superfans are an interesting group. I mean, I like them quite a bit. I've seen them live a few times and Jim James once. But, they don't really do anything that hasn't been done before by jam bands or rock bands. They just synthesize the two. Also MMJ has 1 classic album (Z), 1 very good album (It Still Moves) and then a bunch of pretty good to forgettable ones. Though I'm an Evil Urges fan so the purists may not approve.

Radiohead is objectively better than My Morning Jacket. I would rather see My Morning Jacket 10 more times in the next 2 weeks than see Radiohead again. That's my taste, I just don't enjoy seeing them or listening to them as much as I enjoy listening to Jacket.

Hah! I never voted for this, guess I didn't see much need to... Radiohead, very easily. That isn't to say I don't like MMJ... they put out one album that I love, one of the best live documents of the last 20 years, and a few other albums that I enjoy. However, I haven't really cared for any of their last few releases and I've just honestly lost interest in them over the years. Radiohead, on the other hand... two albums I'd consider five stars, another that's very close, and I only dislike one of their albums. Seen them twice, and I'd consider both shows to be among the best I've seen (especially Roo 06), and I'd see them tomorrow in a heart beat. To the contrast of how it is with MMJ for me, I've actually grown to love Radiohead more over the years.
Unfortunately, I've still never seen MMJ in concert... I did listen to the last half of their 08 show from my campsite and it was great. I know they are supposed to be excellent live, among the best in the business, but if I was to go see them tomorrow and the show was even as good as "Okonokos", I doubt it would do much to change my overall opinion on this.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some Jacket. I've seen them 9 or 10 times now. They're very talented musos and brilliant songwriters in a bit more of that classic rock / Americana tradition. But Radiohead reinvented the proverbial wheel of rock. They continue to innovate and experiment with their sound with every record more than Jacket have in their entire career. And I think that innovation makes them more influential among their contemporaries and spiritual successors. It's why they're so influential, and it's why in 50 or 100 years' time, music historians will be talking about Radiohead far more than they will about Jacket.
On a technical level, I would also give the edge to Radiohead over their individual counterparts in MMJ (though Thom's vs Jim's voice is a close call). This is why Radiohead headlines Coachella and Glasto while MMJ headlines Forecastle and Newport. With all respect to Jacket and all the hard work and talent it took to get there.

I'm glad y'all dig 'me, really. But you'd have to pay me to see them again. And even then...
