It happens every year, someone who should be a LN gets put on a stage in the scorching heat and/or an out of left field act like Unchained gets a coveted LN.
So, who do you think will get screwed over, driving us all into an enraged frenzy in the process?
My guesses...
Four Tet getting an afternoon tent slot a la SBTRKT
Beach House gets an afternoon Which slot with their dreamy quality ending up less entrancing and more a snoozer due to the heat.
I don't believe they'll make the late-night mistakes they made last year, but yeah, I could see Four Tet getting shafted (even though, I have never really looked into him live, I don't know what his live rig is like). Beach House would work pretty well as a late evening spot I think.. a mid afternoon Which spot, I would HOPE the organizers would have more sense than to book as such.

I'm hoping for a late night Thursday Four Tet set, thats the only time I could see him getting a night time set since he's not as well known as other artists....I really hope him and all the electronic acts don't get a day set.

I've seen quite a few electronic acts, but never one during the day..they've all been at night...can anyone attest to their experience of seeing an electronic artist in the daylight?

If you start at about 4:00 to 6:00 and judge for yourself I guess....
I really hope Four Tet doesn't get screwed with a day set. However, SBTRKT was one of my favorites last year and being in the day didn't really bother me then. Four Tet will have a great set regardless.
i kinda expect gov't mule to be given a afternoon spot.. when they deserve a late nite. who knows who would guest in that show.. warren knows everybody.

I used to think EDM only worked at night, till I caught a few day sets. If the artist knows what they are doing and actually chooses what songs they play to fit the set and setting, it can definitely work. If its just a "hit play" kind of artist who plays the same set every time, its a crap shoot as to whether it works or not.
In a way, EDM during the day can be awesome because it feels unnatural, like "I can't believe I'm dancing my ass off to Wolfgang Gartner at 2PM on Sunday" kind of thing. It can also really show you the quality of the music, because you aren't distracted by the lights and stage show.
So basically if the music is good, and the artist chooses appropriate day time type songs, it can be a great experience.
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
For what it's worth, Four Tet's site has him listed on Saturday. I REALLY don't want to get my hopes up for a Four Tet Saturday night late night but you never know...
I still think The Kooks got quacked over last year. Really wasn't expecting late night, but thought it was a possibility...I was holding out for Which closer on Sunday.
Somethings tells me Portugal the Man. will get quacked over. Prob either noon, or during another set I really want to see.

Pretty Lights could work during a day slot, Porter Robinson or Wolfgang Gartner would be harder for me to stomach.
This whole festival should take place from sunset til sunrise.

You thought a band billed in the lower half of the lineup was going to close the which on sunday?

I didn't understand there lineup placement. There was Thursday bands ahead of them, and I knew they would be on a stage.
