"French dance music legends Daft Punk are to launch their much-anticipated new album in a remote Australian farming town.
Random Access Memories, the duo's first album in eight years, will be played for the first time anywhere in Wee Waa.
The tiny town, located 500km northwest of Sydney, has a population of just 1,653 and 4,000 tickets are being sold for the gig.
The album will be launched at Wee Waa's agricultural show on May 17.
The region's tourism authority said in a statement: "This year's event will be highly anticipated with the announcement of Daft Punk, a French band with millions of fans worldwide, having chosen the Wee Waa Show to become the official global site for the launch of their new album.
"The Wee Waa Show will host a playback of the new album to a packed audience for the global launch party.
"It is expected people will travel from far and wide to attend the show."
The band - Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter - are not expected to attend the low-key launch."
The guests.
"The video also confirms a list of notable guests to appear on "Random Access Memories." The album, due out May 21, will feature Panda Bear, the Strokes' Julian Casablancas, Todd Edwards, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, Paul Williams, and Pharrell."
The single.
"It’s a Daft Punk rumor so proceed with caution: According to MTV, a DJ for France’s Fun Radio announced on Twitter that a new Daft Punk single will be premiered on air this coming Monday, April 15th.
Here’s his exact quote: “Good news, our french robots DaftPunk will premiere their new single next week on the french radio ‘Fun Radio’, i didnt say anything ”
Fun Radio’s official Twitter account also appears to be hinting at the song’s imminent premiere. The tweet is in French, but roughly translates to: “Before the comeback of Daft Punk, a few seconds of their new single to hold you until Monday” and is accompanied by a link to their recent commerical.
Daft Punk’s new album Random Access Memories is due out May 21st through Columbia Records imprint Daft Life Limited."

Was that during Love Like a Sunset? I only caught their first 3 or 4 songs.
I have no idea, don't know their catalog that well. But I agree. Those ten seconds are really cool lol. Now that I think about it, I doubt the similar color schemes was intentional. Cool coincidence though.
Have any of yall been watching the Daft Punk collaborators series on randomaccessmemories.com/? They have interviews with Giorgio Moroder, Todd Edwards and Nile Rodgers so far and each has been better and more interesting than the last. I'm super excited for this album and I love the teasers they've been dropping to hype the album release.
1) "Give Life Back to Music" 2) "The Game of Love" 3) "Giorgio by Moroder" 4) "Within" 5) "Instant Crush" 6) "Lose Yourself to Dance" 7) "Touch" 8) "Get Lucky" 9) "Beyond" 10) "Motherboard" 11) "Fragments of Time" 12) "Doin' It Right" 13) "Contact"
Its been taken down. Keep an eye out for a leak of the radio version that has some lyrics about "Like the legend of the Phoenix" at the beginning.
I've been lurking on the DP subreddit, at the end of a huge back and forth argument on whether that leak was authentic or not, the general consensus was that this leak was indeed an elaborate, well done, fake. (Unfortunately)
Here is an interview with Pharrell where it appears they sampled and altered the new lyrics. It's cued up to where he says "The legend of the phoenix, there's no ending or beginning."
My contact at work who's friend allegedly does work for them stated that the leak was an intentional fake leak. Take that for what's it worth.
The song is now listed for sale on Amazon with a release date on Friday, so I guess all will be revealed in a couple days.

We live in a time that has intentional fake leaks lol. I remember hearing of other artists who would leak fake albums and things like that just to throw people off/mess with them.
