So your reason why FSU isn't going to be just as good next year is because Clemson, who they dismantled in embarrassingly easy fashion, is "not down?"
And if FSU, who is better than Clemson based on the opinion of everyone besides you, shouldn't expect a cake walk, how does that mean Clemson, a team that was worse last year and isn't closing the gap via recruiting, is closing the gap? I'm dying to know your logic here, Sang.
why do think you think FSU is really 35 pts better than Clemson? I'd love to hear your logic on that one. Just because they were on that day doesn't mean that's how wide the gap between the teams really is. you play good games and you play bad games. the same Clemson team beat a very good (top 5) Ohio St team. shit happens.
I don't think any team is "X points" better than another team, because that's an illogical way to rate teams. FSU is "clearly better," as I have been repeatedly saying. They are "clearly better" because they were better last year, are losing less important players than Clemson to the NFL/graduation, and they're bringing in better players. They could beat Clemson by 80 next year, 1 point, or even lose to them (*gasp*!) but as of right now FSU is clearly, indisputably better than Clemson.
Clemson beating an overrated OSU team does nothing to sway my opinion. And while they were doing that, FSU was pummeling the SEC champion and reminding people the world doesn't begin and end in that conference. Remember when you wanted them to win because it'd prove the SEC less powerful? Man, was that shit fun.

I've already said that we're behind them, but it's not by as much as you wish it was. and both teams are far ahead of the rest of the league.
That is where you're coming off as an unrelenting homer.
you're wrong. to the rest of the league we are the teams to beat. we haven't lost to anyone in the league except FSU the last 2 years. we beat the crap out of everyone else just like they do. if FSU doesn't win the league it's because Clemson beats them, it's not going to be anyone else.
FSU 35-6 (3rd) Clemson 32-8 (8th) VT 26-14 (33rd) Miami 22-15(45th) UNC 22-16 (51st) GT 22-18 (62nd) Duke 19-20 (70th) the others are not even worth listing
How many key players are on Clemson's roster still from that 2011 team, Sang?
why does it matter? that proves that we're far ahead of the rest of the league. it isn't changing either. we just signed our 4th straight top 15 class. you think just because Tajh and Sammy are gone that we don't have more stars behind them?

It proves that guys who are no longer on the team anymore are what you use to prove a statement about the current team.
FSU was better last year, yes? Yes. FSU's departing players, while very good, were not as vitally important to FSU as Clemson's were to them, yes? Yes. FSU did better at recruiting this year, yes? Yes.
Three indisputable facts. Knowing these are indisputable, how can you say Clemson is on the same tier as FSU?
Not being on the same level as FSU isn't an insult, btw, FSU was the best team in college football last year. You're Georgia, a good team who will have high expectations every year, but probably won't realize them often (if ever) because of the fact that there are better teams in front of them. No shame in that, but you can stop acting like just a couple of plays is what separated FSU and Clemson's seasons.

because we are on the same tier. we're going to compete with them every year for the division title and whoever wins our division is most likely going to win the ACC. we are the top 2 teams in the ACC. end of story. FSU needs to win it 4 or 5 times in a row in order for you to be talking the way you're talking. you're getting a little ahead of yourself.

For fuck's sake.
FSU doesn't need to "win it 4 or 5 times" to prove that this team is better. Holy shit. So in 2020, if FSU wins the ACC again, it helps prove that in February of 2014 the Seminoles were better?

This applies here:
yes for them to be clearly superior to Clemson, they need to beat them more than twice in a row. they need to win the league more than twice in a row. 2 years doesn't make a dynasty. this isn't the 90's (yet). if it gets to that point trust me, I'll admit it. back then everyone feared FSU. we counted that as a loss before the game was even played. it's not back to that point yet. not at all. sorry to disappoint you.

Sang,
Stop hurting yourself. Clemson can be BOTH "clearly behind" FSU AND still be one of the upper echelon teams in all of the NCAA. For right now though, most everything said above is spot on and it is not even a personal dig on Clemson. Isn't it fair to consider that after losing two of the best offensive weapons in the history of the school that whatever difference there is already between FSU and Clemson could widen? Consider that the CURRENT players most responsible for creating that gap are still playing at FSU and in theory should also be a year wiser and better...just like the guys leaving Clemson did over the last few years. It has nothing to do with if FSU wins another championship or not. They could win the ACC and lose in or not even be invited to the playoff. Instead, you are saying that Clemson is getting better every year. I am not at all saying Clemson sucks or wont be relevant in 2014. I am asking what specifically at this point would give you the confidence that Clemson in 2014 would be better than in 2013?

I'm sure you guys don't watch every Clemson game or know what's going on with recruiting and all that. So I can understand that you're maybe not seeing what I'm seeing. But this isn't just me talking, everyone here thinks this way. This program is on the rise. We've had some of our best years ever. Things are looking up. All we need to do is get by FSU and SC. Other than that we're doing great things. So you ask exactly why I feel so confident about the future? The QB we just signed is the #1 rated in the country by some(that's better than Tajh). The offense we have is always going to produce. We have plenty of other weapons to use. Maybe not Sammy Watkins, but who knows? We just brought in 4 more 4 star WR to add to what we already have on the roster. We're like WRU right now they all want to come play in this offense. But the most encouraging thing is the improvements in our defense. We will have one of the best DL in the country this year. Vic Beasley came back. There is plenty of young talent on that side of the ball as well. Trust me, I know how good FSU is, I saw it in person. But I really don't feel like we are as far behind. They may win again this year because we have to go to Tallahassee. But that doesn't mean that we're falling behind, things are still looking up for the program and it's only going to get better.

Please provide evidence that "everyone" thinks Clemson is closing the gap on FSU.

This is a fair comment. Clemson is looking solid, their program is in good shape, they've been near the top of recruiting classes lately...they're moving in the right direction. Fair.

Good stuff, sounds like your team picked up some players. But FSU picked more, and better ones. They have a better recruiting class. Explain how this means Clemson is getting closer to FSU, rather than far away.

So, to recap: You've been saying over and over they have to lose at least two in a row, but FSU winning those two games doesn't mean anything.
You stay out of it. You haven't even been able to admit that Vandy has been better than Tenn.
When have I said that I don't admit that? Vandy has beaten UT two years in a row and has gone to multiple bowl games in a time frame in which Tennessee has gone to zero. It's not really much of an argument. I would say the gap has gotten much closer this year when we lost by 4 at the last minute which isn't as bad considering we were starting our 3rd string true freshman quarterback. Also, Tennessee got a recruiting class in the middle of the top 10 while Vandy's was barely inside the top 50. Lastly, according to your own quote, two losses in a row don't mean dick.
Since you wanna get frisky, I will also dispute your statement that "everyone here feels this way" as you brother in law gushed about the recruiting class just as much as you then stated he fully expected to win 7 to 9 games next season.
