Back in my day, they'd at least play a few games before holding up a gas station.
Haha. No gas stations robberies. Just drunk people being stupid. I am more interested in seeing how Coach Jones will react since Johnson is an important player on defense and this is really Jones' first incident in which he had to handle disciplinary matters like this. At least we are still ahead of Auburn since one of their recruits got a felony possession charge this week.
Good for him. He was projected at about a 3rd round pick, I really hope he doesn't tumble to like the 6th round because of this.
I want him to perform at the combine now, so that can remove the prospect of them moving him down "because of his combine" when they just don't want him around because of him coming out.

Oh thank goodness. The NCAA has proposed they change the targeting rule to remove the 15 yard penalty if the call is overturned because that wasn't the obvious choice from the beginning apparently. link
Not only that. The offense can't snap the ball until the play clock hits 29 seconds.
that's stupid.
Holy crap. Sang and I agree on something in this thread. I hate that they are trying to fix one misguided rule that was put in place to protect players while, at the same time, proposing this garbage under the guise of protecting players.
Every time I hear Saban talking about Football being too fast all I see is this:
This rule change is kind of turning into a PR nightmare for them because it is very much coming off like a bunch of old school style coaches who can't keep up with uptempo teams pitching a fit.
It's even better that they are trying to make it about player safety, but it turns out that the faster teams have lower percentages of most injuries.
I love that Rich Rod is the face of the WTF are you thinking crowd.
Yeah. I saw that all the uptempo coaches jumped on that player safety angle quick asking for them to supply a study or some sort of research to back up their claims. I don't blame the slow temp guys for trying, but it's just the game evolving. Adapt or gtfo.

I kind of thought Saban hiring Kiffen was him trying to evolve, but apparently not.
One interesting angle I read in a CBS peice:
"Think of this brain teaser: The defense jumps offside within the first 10 seconds of the play clock. The offense then snaps the ball, as it should, figuring it has a free play.
Who gets penalized? Defense? Offense? Offsetting?"
