Tricky and Ryan Adams have given September a great start...
Did you actually listen to Adrian Thaws? Just wondering, because it's absolutely atrocious. After the promise of False Idols, he's gone and released what might be the worst album he's ever done.
That new Hiss Golden Messenger is pretty aces though.

I enjoyed it. Different people enjoy different styles of music, though.
A lot of people didn't like the new Roots and Black Keys albums and I loved both of them, too.
For those who don't know, the U2 album is free on iTunes. Even if it's bad, it don't cost nuttin'.
A kick to the nuts is free...
Some people pay good money for that treatment, mistress.
Regardless, if you don't pay for it, you still have your money in your pocket for an athletic supporter, a bag of ice, or even an Easton baseball bat. Whatever suits your taste is still there for the taking. And who knows? Even if you don't like the whole kick in the nuts, you might like the shoes.

I understand that everyone has different tastes, but the new Tricky album isn't just about a different "style" of music. It's objectively a poor record.

Since I have no nuts to kick, I'm downloading the free version. How bad can it be?
edit-I'm not sure I can make it to the end. "California" is atrocious. edit2-If you think California is bad, listen to Iris.

It's been given mixed reviews actually... some people love it, some hate it. After a few listens, I think people would enjoy it more.

Who cares what the reviews say? Go listen to Maxinquaye or Pre-Millenium Tension or hell, False Idols, then try and defend it. The album is a sloppy, poorly executed and lazy piece of work - and this is coming from someone who eagerly awaits each new Tricky release, and will eagerly await the one that follows this piece of junk. It's not the first time this has happened - Blowback exists, as do Mixed Race and Knowle West Boy among others. The man has a history of mixing in brilliance with complete and utter shit.

I've been following Tricky for decades - just because you don't like an album doesn't mean it's not good and not of great substance.

This is the first full U2 album I have "purchased" since "Achtung, Baby." It's a tough listen.
