Haha the Habs are doing just fine (really fine) and the Bruins have enough struggles. If he misses even half the season we are done. I don't think it's too serious... or I'm in denial our season is over already unless Hamilton magically grows a set of defensive skills.
Hakuna, bet your glad we didnt continue our bet from last year eh?
Sorry I didn't see this til now Boner. I'll continue it and honor it til the Bs win since I flaked on you last year. I'm finally back in Boston, and can watch, and they're not gonna loose again.

nah, I wouldn't feel right about it, given the scheduling debacle. World Jrs are coming up, but I don't think any of you Americans really follow that. And if you do, you'd know better than to bet against Canada this year.

Even if things are turning a corner, the Eastern conference still looks too weak for me to even think we could pull off a series victory against the West. I don't see the Bruins, Montreal, Isles, Pitt, TB, or Detroit winning against a team like Anaheim, Nashville, or Chicago. David Pastrnak looks like a great young developing player. I saw him play for Providence a few weeks ago and he clearly belongs in the NHL for good.
I'm not expecting the Bruins to win the Cup either, just do make a decent showing and maybe make the second round of the playoffs.
and it'll be good, quality hockey if they do. I just wish we had a fighting chance against those great teams. Hell, in a few years Boston, Nashville, or Montreal might be able to take on a team like the LA Kings of last year.

gotta think about it this way. Those western conference teams are gonna beat the piss out of eachother. Eastern teams have an easier route. Unless they play the Bruins.
Habs didn't lose to the Rangers because Price went down, they lost because it took all they had to beat the Bruins.
Habs Bruins finally of the regular season today. 1st game where teams are on even playing grounds, where they both played the night before. Should be interesting! Huge game for both teams!
I'll re-post this hear since it is more relevant and I just found this thread.
The Boston Bruins are pathetic. Absolutely no effort at all last night - went to a goddamn shootout playing one of the worst teams in the league. With Tuukka Rask starting. I'm starting to feel bad for him. He's an amazing goaltender, and it would be great if he actually had a team to back him up. The shots last night during that shootout were pathetic - even Rask was laughing at them. Some trades need to be made and fucking Chiarelli needs to go. He's just made some bad decisions. If the Bruins don't make the playoffs this year, I could see a complete restructuring of the organization. They are just playing lazy hockey all around, and it's becoming a chore to watch them struggle every single week.
I think they'll make the playoffs, but as a 7 or 8 seed - then get bounced pretty quickly.
Thankfully I haven't seen too many games this year, because I'd imagine some of them (like last night) would be painful to watch
I'm hoping they will at least make it to the playoffs. January was all right, but they've straight up sucked this month. It's almost a chore to watch them play now - it's not even fun. I'm not really sure what the problem is - everyone's jumping to blame Claude and Chia or demanding drastic trades happen.
Is it really Claude's fault though? I'd put more of it on Chia than him.
The team seems to be relatively similar year in year out, while other teams are getting better around them.
I'd place the blame on Chia more than anyone else. His fucking decisions on trades and contracts have made no sense. He just hands out NTCs like it's going out of style to players that don't deserve it.
I went to the store and the Bruins were up 1-0. I come back, it was 3-1 - and within a minute or two it was 4-1.
It's a good thing I'm really not watching them that much this year, because god this looks like a shitshow out there.
Bruins beat Chicago 6-1 last night. Well, okay. I wasn't really planning on watching it much because I expected that score.....but with the teams reversed.

My Hawks aren't looking too hot as of late but there's plenty of time for coach Q to turn it around. The Preds look good and their goalie has been great but they don't trally scare me. Come playoff time the kings are the only team I'm truly worried about. They're barely the 8th seed right now but that doesn't fool me. The Blues are good too, the ducks will fold probably against the kings, and the Preds will probably fall in the second round. Jets, Canucks, flames, sharks, wild... Whichever pf these teams make it, they'll be bounced in round 1. I actually wouldn't count out the Avs yet even though they're currently in last place.
Dream matchup for me would be the Hawks and the Wings for the cup, but i really like the Habs this year. They're very solid this year and should make a nice run. Can't count out Pitt either.

I'm just excited for playoff hockey already.
. The Habs have perfected the system that they began to play in last years playoffs, and Carey Zprice has become the goalie he was touted for so long to become. Baring any significant injuries, I'm expecting another trip to the conference finals again. The only teams that worry me in the east are Tampa and NYR. And don't be so quick to count out the Preds. They're for real this time. Ducks Kings Blues and Preds in the west, Tampa Habs Rangers and Islanders in the east
