Though I was already a big fan, I really really like the new Foals. Don't think I can put it above Compton for AOTM yet with only a couple listens through but it's a damn good album
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I put it above the Compton album barely. those two are top 2 for me for sure though.

Nice rec... that Palehound record was really nice. Good companion piece to the speedy ortiz album from earlier this year. Feeling some pinkerton vibes in here.
September is already off to a great start with the new Low album. Should be an excellent month with new Patty Griffin, The Arcs, Ben Folds, Kurt Vile, Gary Clark Jr, Silversun Pickups, etc.

Took care of Foals and Julio Bashmore today during yard work. Both are great. Still need to listen to Myrkur (sp?) and Slow Meadow. Tough decision this month.
It's funny how subjective taste can be. I got around to listening to Compton on the way back from the Mets/Red Sox game tonight, and I thought it was like listening to an audiobook of a history text. Just fuckin' dreadfully boring for the most part.

Really? I actually liked it quite a bit. (Though it's not even my favorite hip hop of the year)
I haven't really followed discussion but has anybody else thought that Dre sounds quite a bit different than he has in the past? Like, his voice seems higher pitched. (My friend actually turned to me after the 3rd track and asked why Dre hadn't had a verse yet and I had to point it out for him on the next song for him to even recognize Dre)

he was like a yappy dog much of the time, so yeah, that sounds right
