I feel bad for not doing this sooner, as Sylvan Esso is one of my favorite groups at Roo this year. Amelia Meath's voice and inflection pair wonderfully DJ with Nick Sanborn's electronics, forming music that very delicately straddles the line between chill and dancy. I generally don't enjoy live shows that are more on the chill/relaxed side because I like to dance a lot, and Sylvan Esso provides a good mix of both. Their shows are engaging and dynamic, and Amelia's humble and warm personality will instantly draw you in. The only criticism I have of their live show is that it's so short - they've only got one album, so expect them to play everything from that and a cover or two. You'll leave wanting more.
H.S.K.T. is probably one of the top five songs that I saw live last year. They could let this rage on for a half hour and I'd love it.
Discography: Sylvan Esso (2015)
Sounds like: Odesza, Flume, passionate lovemaking under the stars
They play on Friday from 6:30-7:30, and conflict with Guster, Atmosphere, and Kacey Musgraves. I'd wager that Sylvan Esso will be the most upbeat of that time slot, so if you're looking to dance, this is where you should be!

I love them so much. The first time I saw them was in 2012, opening for Man Man. They didn't even have a CD yet, just the Vinyl EP with Play it Right and Hey Mami. I have seen them 3 times since and every time it gets better. Love them.
My friend turned me onto Sylvan when we decided to go to roo. I've since become obsessed with them! Fantastic music. I drive my boyfriend nuts listening to them almost everyday . Cannot wait to see them on the farm!!!
