While we were all out on the farm this past weekend- laughing, high-fiving, hugging, dancing, raging, sharing, burning, loving, kissing, caring and basking in the joy and positivity that radiates from such a wonderful community- A very terrible thing happened back in my hometown. As we all know, the world still turns outside of Roo and not all of us have the best home-coming, but I wasn't expecting to return to something so awful. I got the news that my next-door neighbors were in a terrible car accident, and everyone didn't make it out ok. I have lived next-door to these amazing people my entire life. I grew up with them, went to school with them and borrowed many cups of sugar. All the while knowing that if I ever needed a helping hand their front door was only a few feet away. This family lost a father and a husband, but we have all lost a friend, a kind hearted soul and amazing neighbor. So I am reaching out to all of the amazing neighbors that I came back to see this year at Bonnaroo. There is a family who is hurting and would appreciate any help that they could get right now. There is no other group of people that I know who are more kind, loving and giving, especially when people are in need. So from one Bonnaroovian to y'all: help a neighbors neighbor!
That's terrible news and all, but you created an account here just to post a gofundme link? Hmm... yes, life and tragedies do happen, even during (away from?) Bonnaroo. I've learned a lesson: go to Bonnaroo, so at least you can spend a few says in a sort of paradise, and off the road.
I'll send a prayer for the family, but sorry, no cash.
