Jamie's solo success will boost the XX also. They're definitely top 8.
I could easily see them just getting the same slot as M83. The billing in SA since those bands don't tour there often is way different than billing in US. Lolla would put XX in top 10 or 12....but they're not headlining. Same with Roo(Top 10 or 12).

They were already #13 last time they played and sub-headlined Coachella.

Well maybe at Roo they'll be in the Top 8, but definitely not Lolla.
Once again that's in SA and not US. Tame was in top 8 at SA. So was Foster the people lol. Not using that as a template for Lolla Chicago. Also The Strokes as a number two at SA, they'll be three at Lolla. Most likely behind Arcade Fire or Muse or something like that. The XX will be in the Top 10 at Lolla.
I mean look at who was in the Top 8 this year in Chicago.
Radiohead RHCP LCD Soundsystem J Cole Major Lazer Disclosure Ellie Lana
^The XX wouldn't make the cut and I love those guys but billing in SA vs US is laughable.

after a new album they can and probably will break the top 8
Isn't Bonnaroo already basic bitch Woodstock? I'm not trying to slander the festival or anything I obviously love Bonnaroo. But it's essentially a festival where a lot of relatively normal people come to camp out and celebrate some "peace and love". But most of it's demographic aren't necessarily "hippies" or people that care about the jam bands Bonnaroo used to book back in the day. It doesn't take the same dedication as Burning Man and we aren't exactly Glastonbury either. A festival of people "radiating positivity" and doing drugs out in the open but are mostly excited for stuff like Ellie Goulding, Bonnaroo already seems like basic bitch Woodstock.
Basically a less pretentious exact version of Coachella after camping both.
I think Bon Iver won't play Roo, might play Shaky. The National are more likely for Roo because it's been longer, and they'd be a repeat headliner for Shaky, which hasn't happened yet. The xx are trickier, because I feel like they could be a headliner at Shaky, but they don't strike me as a headlining artist. They could probably go either way.
You forgot to mention Sigur Rós though. They're the real question.
If MMJ can headline Shaky, the xx can.
Sweetwood is a massive MMJ fan. That's why the festival is named after them. The xx could headline but they could also very well be a #4
OBH Circuital IWBTWYD Touch Me, Part 2 Tropics IWSYS Masterplan Holdin On to Black Metal Highly Suspicious In Its Infancy
Severe lack of songs from Z here. And no way are those two even close to top 10. Especially when you have so much missing (Mahgeetah, Steam Engine, Dondante, Gideon, Phone Went West, Wonderful, Lay Low, etc.)
As for albums: It Still Moves Z The Waterfall At Dawn Circuital The Tennessee Fire Evil Urges

If I were doing an actual, objective top 10 MMJ songs, sure. Mahgeetah, Steam Engine, Dondante, Gideon, you've got me there.
Also no Wordless Chorus.
I just didn't want to overload it with stuff with ISM or Z, because to be honest if I threw all notions of representing the lesser albums out the window everything would be off ISM except for I Will Be There and Circuital. But if I did an expanded list, they'd be up there.
It's only ten songs: shit's gonna get shafted.
I do not get what you guys love about Phone Went West or Lay Low.
The fucking Postal Service was a stage closer at LL 2013. The xx will easily make the top 8 there.
Since 2014 has their been an indie headliner like The postal service at Lolla. Clearly the status of a bud light headliner has changed greatly.
2014: Arctic Monkeys(who had one of their biggest years ever) Skrillex(Who was already insanely popular for EDM) Calvin Harris(The highest paid DJ that year)
2015: Sam Smith(Sold out every venue on his tour) The Weeknd(Massive success in 2015) Bassnectar(A very popular act in EDM)
2016: Lana del ray(High demand and sells out like crazy) Ellie(Very popular pop act) Major Lazer(Molly munchers love Diplo, and "Lean On" was hella popular) Disclosure(Very popular electronic act)
So with this trend since 2014....you still think that The XX who hasn't had a hit since anything off their self-titled. Is headliner at Lolla in 2017 when the demographic has clearly shifted away from this brand of indie as a headliner to a much more mainstream affair.
2017 Top female act(Lorde or Sia) Frank ocean/Gambino/Chance EDM EDM
If the XX are a Top 8 at Lolla.....I won't post in Inforoo for the rest of 2017. That's how sure I am that they won't headline in 2017, and if I'm wrong so be it. But based on the current Bud Light headliner trend at Lolla....I can't think of a scenario when The XX gets a Top 8 at Lolla instead of a main stage pre-headliner in 2017.
