Is anyone here actually really against The Weeknd headlining? As long as he doesn't get stupid Hangout money, everyone here seems to agree the dude brings it live.

Until he doesn't bring it at all and decides to do SNL instead.

The Weeknd was horrible at Lolla in 2012, lot of people say he's improved since. His pay won't change, if anything it'll probably go up once his new album takes off.

The Weeknd was at a totally different stage in his career in 2012. I remember asking about The Weeknd live a week or so ago and everyone said good things.

I think he meant how much they payed to have him as an "exclusive"

Oh yeah. Well it'll still be pricey. I have no idea how much extra is given for exclusive deals.
Are you telling me you don't wanna see James Iha fucking nail the guitar solo on Zero?
I don't want to hear anythin' from them. At best they have two passable songs in my opinion ("1979" and "Tonight, Tonight"), but if I never heard their music again I wouldn't feel I was missin' anythin'.

I think I'm 1/100 people who wouldn't want Lumineers next year. Easy to skip Lana. I'll never forgive Snoop at his Riot fest shenanigans....geezus. That best case scenario would be awesome, but I would like it more if Misfits played in the Slayer spot. That would be a great booking, especially since they will be touring in 2017.

The original Misfits are not happening.
I mean they had that Danzig legacy thing at Roo, so I don't think it's too far off to think they couldn't play. A slayer slot LN set would be pretty epic IMO.
The Avett Brothers had a massive crowd tonight in Columbia.
Well yeah it was like his ninth show ever.

Danzig himself has said (multiple times) that the original Misfits were a Riot Fest-only thing.
I'm big into the idea of Paul Simon | Arcade Fire | the Weeknd
Friday: the Weeknd Saturday: Arcade Fire Sunday: Paul Simon
Pretty varied set of headliners that would draw pretty well without any of them costing a ridiculous amount. I also think it'd leave a ton of potential for a great undercard. Opinions?

Paul Simon would be a good fit for Sunday night closer, but I'm not sure how likely he is considering that this may very well be his last year of touring. Also, I can't imagine he would be #1 on the bill. He was listed below Neil Young and Beck at Beale Street this year. I'm not even sure if he would outright headline or occupy the Lionel Richie spot.

Switch The Weeknd for Beyonce or Radiohead and I'd probably find a way to make it to Roo

Oh yeah, Beyoncé is totally gonna happen. She's a very safe bet. No way around it. She's incredibly likely. Might as well pencil her in now. Shoe in. I'd put all my money on it. Talk about guarantees. Her, Daft Punk, and Dre are all no brainers. I'd even categorize them all as a foregone conclusion, perhaps go as far as a mathematical certainty.

Someone ate a big steaming cup of sarcasm soup today.

I think I may have OD'd on the stuff. Someone help me.

Damn, didn't know that. Thought that he would've been closer to the Billy Joel booking.

Yeah, I think he would most likely be billed 3rd. I know he was #1 on the bill at Hangout in 2011, but he also played the Sunday afternoon "legend" slot at Glastonbury.
