What was ya'lls favorite show from 2015? Mine was D'Angelo hands down. I left that shit show of a superjam after it started and I'm so glad I stumbled on D'Angelo's set. It was incredible.

D'Angelo Caribou Courtney Barnett RTJ Royal Blood
but honestly my favorite show of that year was Jamie xx. Such a smooth dance party and he had one of the longest sets of the weekend that wasn't a headliner.
I used to be a big deadmau5 fan and still think his Random Album Title and 4x4=12 albums are great. But, his live shows are so sedative. Instead of doing something with the songs or mixing them in an interesting way, he literally plays them out from beginning to end with barely any flair. His unhooked/DJ sets are much better, as he's usually a bit looser and actually pulls off some interesting tricks. It's ironic that his sets that are supposed to be his big, epic shows are so sleep-inducing.
I still think seeing him over EW&F and then Fly Lo at Roo in 2015 was such an utter mistake.
Deadmou5 was my first EDM show back in 2011. He's a great DJ but is also way too emotional. Which unfortunately can reflect in his sets when he does' t connect with the crowd. I also saw him at Veld in 2013 and he put on an amazing show to close the festival while his parents waved to the crowd. I'd love to see what he's been working on regardless.

I'd say he's an OK DJ at best, but his DJ sets are still way more interesting and involved than his static live show.
On another note, 2015 was pretty sick. D'Angelo, Jamie xx, Caribou, Kendrick (plus the live debuts of "i" and "These Walls"), Jungle, Mac Demarco, Courtney Barnett, etc.
I heard they were amazing as well. D'Angelo when I saw him was pure love though.
There's probably no chance of ever seeing Atomic Bomb again though
You could say the same for D'Angelo though. He seems to be done touring Black Messiah and who knows how long his next hiatus will be. But yeah Atomic Bomb is African correct? You're probably correct about that.

Atomic Bomb! is a supergroup that performs the music of William Onyeabor.

I really blew it, skipping this for MMJ.
My favorite sets that year were Courtney Barnett, Jungle, Alabama Shakes, Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Jamie xx, D'Angelo, Spoon, and Caribou. I'll go ahead and name D'Angelo late night as the most memorable.
Slayer that year was one of my favorite shows of all time. It was so chaotic, you could move freely around the entire tent because the pit was so big and nobody was standing still.I felt like that was a pretty unique Slayer experience.
That's actually something that Bonnaroo needs to remember. It's cool when you can see a band on the lineup, and be like that's an amazing band, but seeing them at Bonnaroo is going to be a totally different experience. Bands like Tears For Fears, EW&F, or even Paul McCartney. You just get a completely different, if not better experience when you throw them in the Bonnaroo setting. There wasn't anything on the lineup this year that did that. You're not going to get a significantly better Ellie Goulding experience at Bonnaroo than anywhere else.
2014 was the last all around great year, between the headliners, undercard, and the weather. Everything came together perfectly
I just hope they can give us some surprises because right now I'm stuck between coachella and a hard place
Coachella will undoubtedly have a better lineup.
it seems like coachella always has a better line up but it doesn't have the same atmosphere and people... Which is 50% percent of the reason I love roo

it's true. I went to coachella last year and there were people taking selfies everywhere. Totally ruined the fest for me.

I've heard this is largely overstated by people who've been to both. At some points it apparently does get bad (such as having someone like Sufjan play before Jack U), but otherwise it doesn't seem drastically different.
Catching up with the thread today, I'm just glad to see 2015 getting some love. At the time there was so much complaining about the dropoff in headliners from 2014, but I really thought 2015's undercard was much better. Caribou, Tears for Fears, Jamie xx, almost everything after dark on Thursday. It gives me more hope that 2016 was just an off year, hearing more people warm to 2015.
