This scholarship is founded with the intentions of helping two well deserving souls find their way home to Bonnaroo. To quote March BMOTM 2011, "I would say that first and foremost, the person needs to have a strong desire to go to the festival but can't afford it otherwise. I wouldn't want it to go to someone who could afford everything easily, but just wants to save some dough. Also, they should be an all round nice/good person... someone who would fit well with the vibes at Bonnaroo."
This is who we are looking for, if you know of this person, please apply. Anybody who is not this, is not who the QSAROOTM is looking for.

those of y'all who know me will be surprised to hear this but I honestly don't know what to say. (ok, but not surprised that I'll say something anyway.)
the last 4 years have contained both the darkest and some of the happiest times in my life. I experienced a situation in 2012 that shook me and my little family (at the time, my two kids) to the core. I tried to focus on the positive things in my life and there were still many, but I was so overwhelmed by having experienced what the very worst of humanity is capable of.
I don't even remember how I found this board but somehow I did, and all of the people I virtually interacted with in those early days of 2013, were such a light and a connection to the world that helped me in the process of regaining my sense of self, in an environment where no one knew the things I had dealt with- I was able to just be me, and y'all will never know how much that helped.
then of course, @custeph pulled me in to an IRL meeting (how lucky was I to live so close to such an amazing inforooer!!), introduced me to other people from the board like sangvincent and Mrs. Sang (I'm on mobile and can't remember her username), and she came up with a plan to set me up with G.
you guys, I was convinced it would never work. I was/am older, we were at such different places in life, I like Ben Folds and the Indigo Girls and he likes weird progressive jazz shit that sounds like actual nails on a chalkboard sometimes.
but somehow it did work, and we ended up married, and now we are one of those obnoxious couples who are crazy in love and even though our life gets a little chaotic sometimes I wouldn't trade a minute of it!
anyway, all of that to say: I can't thank you all enough for helping me through a dark time and everything else. and yes, @custeph, you can at least partially claim responsibility for baby Theo.
I know I haven't been on much lately- a combination of work, three kids and lately feeling sad we were going to be missing roo this year due to finances.
but now that we can go- oh man, I will be all up in all of the threads! we will work on our happy dance, and we can't wait to see everybody!
I truly love this community and I'm so so grateful for QSAROO and this opportunity <3
Last year it brought us great joy to create the First Annual Whoreshack Memorial Ticket Scholarship. What better way to remember our friend Mike than to get someone to the farm in his place. We decided to do things a little different this year. This year we wanted someone to be nominated by another member. To not seek it out themselves, but to have this community rally around them to get them to the farm. We were so very fortunate to have this kind soul nominate his/our friend. Here are some things that were said in their application.
"I am requesting an application because Cleo is one of the most kindhearted people I know, and he is unable to afford Roo this year. Anyone who has met him can attest to the fact that he is incredibly humble and grateful (if he were to win the scholarship he'd probably say that he doesn't deserve it and that someone else could use it), and he perfectly embodies the Bonnaroo attitude. He definitely pays it forward in all walks of life, even going as far as to purchase a friend's Roo ticket a couple years ago even though he was similarly strapped for cash. My life has been touched by knowing him, and I feel that several members of this board would say the same."
So it gives us unbelievable pleasure to announce that the winner of the
token07 , we cannot wait to see you on the farm! And Jaz Mocean , you are a most wonderful friend and we have something for you too, for not only thinking of your friend but also doing something to help him. That action means the world to us and is what QSAROO is all about. Candles lighting candles. That is what is happening here.
