The ladyfriend and I are planning on cohabitating sometime late Spring. We're also in for Shaky Knees. This sets up the following conversation.
Lady: "You don't have to work Monday, right?" Me: "No. Since we're not trying to drive back that night, I just take the Monday after off." Lady: "Oh good. Since we're there anyway, we can drive my mom's van down for the festival and then go to IKEA on Monday before we drive back." Me:
Bonus points because she'll likely fly out for work on Tuesday morning leaving me to have the week to assemble IKEA furniture.

also, will something like Tame Impala being listed on the third line in 2015 and then actually being the Sunday night headliner happen this year? I don't think anything similar happened in 2016, but ya never know. I just remember being really pleasantly surprised that that happened.
Yea that was weird, it was like Wilco and Tame Impala switched.
That's exactly what happened. Jeff Tweedy didn't want to play last on Sunday night, so they got moved to Saturday.

Why wouldn't they want to headline? Also wasn't Ryan Adams listed as a headliner at one point?
Tame was a much better headliner. Wilco and Avett are a little too similar in genre, albeit so are all of this year's headliners. Tame's live show works so much better at night
Didn't seem too hard to fit them all in there. Turntable main stage, so 15 minutes in between bands, with 30 minutes in between both of the other stages.

So many conflicts here. The lineup seems even more stacked when you put it in a schedule.

Thanks man! Do we really think all three stages could be active simultaneously? I think this will really complicate things for me. I loved having two bands starting and ending at same time, and then three bands (add in Buford) starting and ending same time. The staggered stuff makes me feel like I'm not getting as much in a day.

I wish it wasn't the case but they'd basically have to be. I couldn't really work it any other way in my schedule.

Hmm. Is anyone worried about the space if they sell the same number of tickets? I've learned to trust the man but part of what I liked is how open its been the last two years.

great point. I wasn't able to attend last year, but I had this thought last year because the COP seems much smaller than the 2015 venue (can't remember the name of the park) I highly doubt that they would sell less tickets even though eliminated that extra area they had last year.
Also, going off that mock:
Friday Public Access TV > Hoops > Pond > Sylvan Esso > PtM > Nick Murphy > The XX
Saturday Cymbals Eat Guitars > Cloud Nothings > Car Seat Headrest > Arkells > Margaret Glaspy > the Shins > Pixies > LCD Soundsystem (the only way this could end better for me would be if Pond then played an after show.)
Sunday (by far the weakest day for me, so I may just go to the aquarium in the morning) Whitney > Bishop Briggs > Warpaint > Wolf Parade > (don't really care but friend(s) will likely wanna see Cage the Elephant and that'll improve our spot for Phoenix) > Phoenix

I'm still having a hard time picturing the main stage and secondary stage overlapping because of the proximity. Although they would blast house music at the main stage and if you were up close you couldnt even hear the other stage.
Seems like if you are back a little at either stage you will have terrible noise bleed. The 3rd stage could definitely overlap with the other two all day and do shorter sets while the other two alternate.
Did you confirm the turntable stage theory or just going off what makes sense timing wise?

wow I hope this does end up 99% accurate. basically no conflicts for me and enough time in between sets to get food and drink and good spot. love it.

It is basically impossible to fit all of the acts in without having one turntable stage. Still, it's kinda hard for me to imagine them having this be the case because they've never had more than 5 acts (plus Songs for Kids) on a stage per day.

Ouch... Preoccupations on during both Cloud Nothing and Car Seat Headrest would be a big time bummer. Pingrove and Whitney would be my other big conflict.

The only thing that kinda makes the Preoccupations conflict not so bad is that I would be able to just camp and be close for Car Seat Headrest, which would be my main concern in that scenario. Oh man, I just rechecked that clash finder and was pleased to find that one of my two worst conflicts had been changed (Fruit Bats vs. the Shins) So, really, the only two major bummers for me are the Preoccupations scenario and Wolf Parade vs. the Growlers.

I couldn't stand looking at the Shins vs. Moon Taxi vs. Fruit Bats. I just couldn't do it.

Fruit Bats > The Shins > Pixies > LCD would probably be my favorite day of music that I have ever witnessed.

So is Hamilton Leithauser playing with the guy from Vampire Weekend or is it just Hamilton? That would be a game changer if he was. They just released the album last Fall..

Rostam? I think he mostly just sticks to producing rather than playing live, which is what I think he's going to keep doing with vampire weekend as well.

2006 is calling.
JK those are all good-great bands.
Oh no, you're totally right. I'm just quite young, so Pixies are the only one of those bands that I have had the opportunity to see (because LCD dodged me at III Points last year)

I might be a little late for this, but must see for me: LCD, Wolf Parade, Moon Taxi, Fruit Bats
Want to see: Pixies (missed them in 2015 for Brand New), the Shins, Nick Murphy/Chet Faker, The Growlers, Whitney, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Shovels & Rope, Dr. Dog, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, The Revivalists, The XX, Fidlar, Lewis Del Mar, and Phoenix
Need further listening: Car Seat Headrest (everyone else seems to be raving on them), Pinegrove, Warpaint, Cloud Nothings
Super pumped for this year. I was mildly disappointed by the lineup at first but now that it's been out for a week I'mm in love.
