Third Eye Blind (for anyone who cares) announced a 20th anniversary tour and plan to play their debut in its entirety. It starts beginning of June. So they may be doing that same thing at Shaky Knees.

Yeah Shaky likes getting bands to do full albums so I guess that's this years.

Man, this full album is soooo disappointing compared to the one I was hoping for (Broken Social Scene - You forgot it in People)

Little late, oh well.
Must see: LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, Pixies, Sylvan Esso, The Revivalists, FIDLAR, Wolf Parade, Whitney, and Twin Peaks
Would like to see: The XX, Cage the Elephant, Portugal. the Man, Moon Taxi, Dr. Dog, Shovels & Rope, Car Seat Headset, Hamilton Leithauser, Cloud Nothings, and The Record Company.
Everybody needs to have Pond in their must see section
Pond and Temples are kind of like, my two unique gets (as far as nearby fests go) this fest has that I really want to see. Would have been cool if they had Jay Watson (the drummer of Pond) do a set as GUM. Seems like a missed opportunity.

Yeah, with the lack of rare gets compared to years past, those are two of the names that stick out as bands I really like that don't tour everywhere often (along with Wolf Parade and Fruit Bats) But, I'm willing to bet that we get at least one really kick ass addition to the top 15 because the last three years we have gotten the Replacements, Ride, and Slowdive. I'll be pretty surprised if they don't add Guided by Voices because they're at Coachella and seem like a perfect fit for Shaky.

Yeah we're missing that like, lines 3-6 rare gets a bunch this year. Yeah Guided by Voices makes sense, can definitely see that.
Maybe we'll get Grouplove as well since they just cancelled their ATL Feb date and start touring again in mid April. I know people crap on them a lot, but idc, they're fun >_>

Looking at tour dates, seems like The XX is a good bet to be playing on Saturday. Playing another show on Sunday, if they played on Friday it would be their 5th show in a row.

If you're in ATL and want to see some of the undercard bands before Shaky..
Public Access T.V. @masquerade ATL, 1/21/2017 (giving away two 3 day GA passes to SK at their show tomorrow) Margaret Glaspy @the Earl ATL 2/4/2017 Lewis Del Mar @tabernacle ATL, 3/9/2017
My prediction spreadsheet had a few of these marked as a 0/10 chance because they're playing in Atlanta so close to May 2017. I'm still bamboozled by it.

Also, I looked at some tour dates to see if I could get an idea of what night bands would be playing and one of the bigger bands (I think it was the shins) just announced a date in Atlanta in October, which is really odd.

That really is odd, especially for someone so high on the bill. X Ambassadors and Twin Peaks also played in ATL last month, so that's like 6 bands so far that are in Atlanta within 6 months of the fest (I haven't checked the entire lineup to see who else has been here lately). I feel like this isn't typical, but I may just be overthinking it a bit this year.
I don't see LCD Soundsystem / temples / pond / the xx putting in dates in Atlanta this year though at least.

I might have to stop by this set if that's the case....
