my flight out on Monday is at 8:40, what time should I plan on leaving downtown to get to the airport without a hassle?
Take Marta from the Five Points station. It drops you off in the airport. It's like a 20 minute ride station-to-station. Trains should be running every 10 minutes or so at that point.
Anyone remember if it's possible to hear the Piedmont stage from the front of the Peachtree stage when there's nothing playing at Peachtree? If I can at least hear Pixies I'll be good to camp out at Peachtree most of the day Friday, because I've already missed them once at this festival and I don't want to miss them again.
Yes. We listened to Dr. Dog and a few others from there.
That was a different stage setup/location last time Dr. Dog played here

Sw420 has moved that stage further from the main so Shaky may be doing the same.

It doesn't look like they moved it all that much, looks more like they rotated a little bit so it's facing more towards the main stage.
Once they're done renovating COP it will make a lot more sense to move that stage though as the viewing area will be able to hold a lot more people. They're tearing down the building that was right next to that stage and replacing it with greenspace.

Food trucks at Shaky Beats are making me a little nervous... No Pickle and no Peace Love and Tacos, which was basically all I ate last year. This is also the only festival in Atlanta that doesn't have Island Noodles.

I'm happy to see Brooke Lynn's Own Sticks & Cones on there! They were at the last two Shaky Knees and also Wrecking Ball. I highly recommend them if you're looking for something unique. I always get the chicken and waffle on a stick, which is basically just chicken covered in fried waffle batter with syrup and trix krispies on top. They also have pizza that's folded into a cone which is pretty cool.
That asian food truck was probably the best food I've ever had at a festival. I can't remember if it was Gekko Sushi? If it was my wife and I are very exciting for it to be back!

FRIDAY Temples > RKS > Growlers > Wolf Parade > Portugal. the Man > Cage (I'll be battling the LCD campers so I can get close for CTE) > late night Matt Shultz DJ set
SATURDAY (may sleep in and not show up until S&R, if I don't) Foreign Air > Shovels and Rope > Catfish & the Bottlemen > Sylvan Esso > Lewis Del Mar > RKS late night
would've liked some of those Friday bands on Sunday. also not too happy with a 45 minute Temples set so early in the day. they should play after sundown. overall this worked out almost perfectly. I'm pumped
I have really enjoyed the Roti Rolls Truck the past two years. Hopefully it returns for shaky knees.....
YES. This and Fox Bros have been my goto.
Sounds like we eat the same thing. We've undoubtedly waited in line together at some point over the past 3 festivals since i am pretty sure Fox Bros and Roti are the only things i've had.

One brisket sammie for now, one pimento cheese sammie for later.

Yep, I think I had a corndog once but other than that it was both of those always.

I know it has been discussed here a while back, but I'm still confused by the stage layout for this shindig. I understand that it is all in one contained location in COP proper this time, but where exactly are the stages? There is still a stage named Piedmont, even though the area is gone that previously had the stage known as Piedmont? Is Piedmont somewhere near where the previous Buford Hwy stage was? I know there is all sorts of construction in the area, but still, why has the fest not released an official map by now?

They've been using the same stage names since the 2nd year, in 3 different locations. It will look like this.

It's a pretty solid schedule. PTM and FIDLAR overlapping is not ideal, but Friday could have been a lot worse on conflicts. Had a really close friend pull the trigger on this recently, which made me give it another thought. Too many factors held me back though (Mac Demarco/Primus/Future Islands all playing AVL within two weeks after this, having to travel back-to-back weekends before this, and just starting my job recently). Seeing that Friday lineup really makes me sad I won't be around for it.
