I plan on trying for barrier for Sylvan Esso at the main stage. Any idea about what time I should get there? I figured there'd be some people there for the xx.
Crowd planning will be kind of odd this year since the festival has shrunk in size. I just talking to the lady today about how it may be super packed if it's the same amount of people in half the space. It may also be similar to last year if there's less people. Given this, you're gonna have to feel it out on Friday to see how the crowd is. If I had to guess now, I'd say show up during catfish and the bottlemen, and you should be good.

Good point, I'll be at the main stage late afternoon Friday so I'll be able to scope it out. Thanks!
Also on the off chance anyone needs to get rid of 2 tickets to the late night Sylvan Esso show let me know!

Update to the schedule. I left it to the lady friend to make a decision between Public Access TV and Amythyst Kiah. It took about five seconds of this video for her to make her decision.

This same methodology/deference will be what resolves most of my conflicts...hope we get down early enough to see Amythyst.
dang, man, might make this with my lady. But, we were planning on going to the Aquarium Saturday since there isn't any music we want to see until pretty late in the day

I had forgotten you were coming. This pleases me. Also conflicted about the Brunch as Amythyst Kiah seems pretty great.
I made a Spotify playlist that follows my schedule, through F-S-S. The songs are those the artist is most likely to play, based on recent setlists. To whatever extent you schedule overlaps with mine, you might find it enjoyable:
Here are the artists on the playlist: Tyler Bryant-->Frank Carter-->Zipper Club-->London Souls-->RKS-->Car Seat Headrest-->Growlers-->Wolf Parade-->Twin Peaks-->FIDLAR-->CTE-->Pup-->LCD Public Access TV-->Record Company-->Foeign Air-->Anderson East-->Run River North-->Mondo Cozmo-->Catfish-->Dr. Dog-->Moon Taxi-->XX Con Brio-->Quaker City Nighthawks-->Cloud Nothings-->St. Motel-->Arkells-->J Roddy-->Warpaint-->Bleachers-->Shins-->Phoenix

Mhmmmmm, I'll be there getting buck wild with Nessie!! Btw, everyone must get pics with Nessie and we should flood inforoo, at least temporarily, with avatar pics that include Nessie

I dunno, bruh. I have grown quite fond of Petey/animated Jarvis Cocker

Hey, I'll have you know I got rid of my glasses! and just because I'm Scottish doesn't mean you can call me Nessie.
Yeah, I have this long standing tradition of basically never updating things like profile pictures. This gif is what... 2012? My FB profile probably about that old as well. Maybe I can post a pic with Nessie on Insta. I do follow the ol' gal.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Guys I have a dilemma. So I was all prepared to skip Ryan Adams and see Pond for the first time and then I watched him performing on Colbert last night and listened to his B-sides and I feel like I have to see him again now. This is by far the worst conflict for me and I'm so torn about it.

If it helps, I am pretty sure it's the biggest conflict for most people on here by a wide margin.

This could have all been solved if they would have just done the logical thing here and gave Pond a late night show.
No accounting for taste. But mayonaise is my girl, so I cut her slack.
We all have skeletons. Mine just happen to be pop stars. Druid loves me so I'm good.
Sidebar: my love of pop stars has absolutely zero to do with my choice in food. I challenge anyone to say that I've ever led them astray when it comes to tasty eats. Also, I never said Roti wasn't good food. I just pointed out that regardless of taste, you're gonna pay the portos with a quickness if you roti. FACT.

for what it's worth Pond was great at Coachella. Made me wish I could see a full set from them.
Ryan Adams is good, but Pond is the way to go. Don't fuck up and skip Pond because it's likely that you're going to be waiting a while for another chance to see them.
I'm not a very big fan of Kings of Leon but the tickets to their 5/11 show at Lakewood are on sale for $20 (with fees and parking) right now. I'm thinking about buying one.

I was about to get that one then at the second realized I was going to Fidlar already that night. I did get the $20 muse tix
Hey guys, I've lurked this forum for a year or 2 now, always for that juicy Roo knowledge.Thought I'd finally join in here and become a part of it all. I live in ATL and am super excited for Shaky Knees this year, basically a curated lineup for my taste. Was curious what you guys actually thought, in an unbiased opinion, how big the LCD crowd would be for this fest. I'm as big a fan as anyone, saw them at Roo, then went to ACL to basically see it all again, but both sets were pretty under attended. At Roo, I was able to easily get on the rail behind the pit after just staying through J Cole. At ACL, I was able to get on the front rail, close to the center after maybe 10 mintues of the act before it. I'd wager, if you show up during PTM, or probably Cage, and stay through LCD, you have almost a 100% chance of being on the rail, or dead center by the time they start. Thoughts?
**also fun fact** I work with a couple of the bands on the Shaky Knees lineup. Won't say who, but I've known the lineup, schedule, and late nights for some time

PtM might give you a good chance, but I would show up doing Wolf Parade tbh. I'm there from CSH to the end

Back at SK 2.0, when Cage>Spoon>The National, we got up into the pit area during Cage (gross) so we could work up for The National. The fans of Cage had no idea who The National was, so it was quite easy to move up once they were done and Spoon went onto the neighboring stage. BUT the flip side of that coin is that the fans of Cage were also the type of people who want to be up front no matter who was on the stage. So the few that stayed made it cramped.
LCD is a popular draw these days with people who aren't too familiar with them just because of their "retirement/hiatus" (in addition to the people who like you, saw them at Roo and ACL (me too) and love them), so I bet that you'd want to be up there and working that crowd early early.
