Hey guys, I've lurked this forum for a year or 2 now, always for that juicy Roo knowledge.Thought I'd finally join in here and become a part of it all. I live in ATL and am super excited for Shaky Knees this year, basically a curated lineup for my taste. Was curious what you guys actually thought, in an unbiased opinion, how big the LCD crowd would be for this fest. I'm as big a fan as anyone, saw them at Roo, then went to ACL to basically see it all again, but both sets were pretty under attended. At Roo, I was able to easily get on the rail behind the pit after just staying through J Cole. At ACL, I was able to get on the front rail, close to the center after maybe 10 mintues of the act before it. I'd wager, if you show up during PTM, or probably Cage, and stay through LCD, you have almost a 100% chance of being on the rail, or dead center by the time they start. Thoughts?
**also fun fact** I work with a couple of the bands on the Shaky Knees lineup. Won't say who, but I've known the lineup, schedule, and late nights for some time
Back at SK 2.0, when Cage>Spoon>The National, we got up into the pit area during Cage (gross) so we could work up for The National. The fans of Cage had no idea who The National was, so it was quite easy to move up once they were done and Spoon went onto the neighboring stage. BUT the flip side of that coin is that the fans of Cage were also the type of people who want to be up front no matter who was on the stage. So the few that stayed made it cramped.
LCD is a popular draw these days with people who aren't too familiar with them just because of their "retirement/hiatus" (in addition to the people who like you, saw them at Roo and ACL (me too) and love them), so I bet that you'd want to be up there and working that crowd early early.
damn. this is exactly what I'm afraid of. as much as I'd like to see Highly Suspect, I'll be getting there during Wolf Parade to secure a spot as close to the rail as possible for Cage. I love The National, couldn't care less about LCD, y'all can have my spot when I leave after Cage. would honestly just stay there from Temples, but they just had to put Growlers on a different stage
Need some help from locals. I forgot my sister moved (she always puts me up for this) and now lives in Marietta (on Powers Ferry Road; she says it's a few miles northeast of the new Braves stadium). My question is: are there any good breakfast spots near there? Don't need anything terribly fancy, just a place to get coffee and eggs.
On an unrelated note, weather looks okay for right now; calling for upper 70s with a chance of rain Saturday but doesn't appear to be 2013/14 levels.

Marietta Diner hands down. I live right next to there. Also if you're in Marietta and looking for fast food, look for a big chicken. There's a Cookout right next to it.

I bet the crowd clears out after Cage. Different crowds if you ask me, especially the people that want to be front row. Plus the Pixies are pretty big draw for all the rock fans

Waffle House.
Btw, the lady and I went to that Waffle House by the east entrance last year for breakfast before heading in. They have their stuff together, but it was super busy. I do love Waffle House though.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I've only eaten at one once (pre-Bonnaroo 2012 or so). It was a sub-par experience, but I am willing to give it another shot one day.
You feel that way about many great things.
Only food. haha But really though. This wasn't a Waffle House jab. I really don't like sweet tea and biscuits, but I feel like I could like Waffle House. I strongly feel it was an issue about that specific location. My biggest problem? I ordered two sunny-side up eggs and one of the yolks were broken. That's not sellable. Any other diner would have tossed it and made another egg. The chef shouldn't have put it in the window and if s/he did, the server should have pushed it back.

My love for WH is mostly a joke. The only time we ever go is late at night on the way from a show. It's perfect food after drinking. Also, I don't believe I've ever had anything other than a burger or patty melt there. But you can't beat that at 2 am.

I see, this is fancy ass folk vs. normal ass folk.
I'm sorry if the entire box of Twinings and packet of Scotch Fingers that ran me the princely sum of $4.30 is too fancy for you. Would you like some more brown water with your glass of sugar?

Um, yeah, I feel like your expectations may have been a little high. I went last Saturday and the server dropped a plate of loaded hashbrowns on the table, never brought the bacon and was maddeningly slow...sweet old lady with a heart of gold though!

So I just bought my wristband (I know, super last minute) and I had to pay $15 in shipping. Are they not doing will call this year because I didn't even see that option?
