Season 1 was a superb piece of television. Definitely a slow burn, a really rich story with complex characters, and as you said just wonderfully acted. I've been completely in love with Linda Cardellini since Freaks & Geeks so that doesn't hurt. I've also been completely in love with Kyle Chandler since Friday Night Lights so that doesn't hurt either.
Ben Mendelsohn's portrayal of Danny Rayburn is just so damn good. He's obviously a talented actor that was given a great character, a character that can be sympathetic but infuriating at the same time.
I know it's set in the keys, but there is something very southern about the whole thing: a wealthy family, prominent in their community, but whose closets are riddled with skeletons. I dig that too.
I was concerned with how they'd pull off a season two, since season one was so masterfully done and stands just fine on its own, but we are two episodes into season 2 and I'm hooked again. You're the first person I've seen comment on the second season in full, very glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Yeah if you aren't on board with Bloodline yet you should make it happen. Like I said its a real slow burn, not The Wire-level slow burn but slow nonetheless. But once it's hot it will demand your full attention.

Yeah, honestly I thought season 1 was going to a one and done series. I had no idea how they could come back with a bigger storyline as I was watching the series last year. I could go very in depth into the second season but I don't want to spoil it early on for people if they come into this thread.
I've read people were dissapointed by the ending of season two but as I was watching I was thinking this is the way most series are going. I hope that doesn't spoil anything for you as I don't think it will. Me and my girlfriend were breathless throughout the last 4 episodes we binged on yesterday. Please let me know what you think as I thought about it all day.
I have two episodes left of season 1. This show went from very interesting character driven show, to suspenseful dark drama, to kinda dragging on for an episode or two, to a twist on the Breaking Bad model, and now almost a horror movie thriller. I love that each episode gives you a few more details into the past family secrets. Should be a great ending, I hope.
