Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie released a new album. They would sound great on the beach. Mick and John played on the album.
Anyone heard any news from Hangout/GV/City Council about next year? It is hopeful that some realtors have Hangout dates next year. Still waiting on ticket information.
Man, 'roo was fun. It'll take a killer lineup to get us back though. It was so much work getting there and back. Sitting in line for 6-7 hours Wednesday night/Thursday morning had me cussing at myself for not going to hangout though.
It's hard to fuck with Hangout for convenience sake. Fly in, get a condo. Walk/shuttle to/from the festival. Then book the condo for a couple days after to lay out and drink beers on the beach. Only thing hangout is really missing is those late night sets. There's no good reason music shouldn't last until at least 1. I'm a sleep in type person during a vacation and I'll never make a noon set. It's just too hot. I'd much rather a later gate opening and later music.
We had a lot of fun and met a lot of really cool people. I'm happy we went out of the comfort zone to see roo for a year. For me hangout takes the cake though.

Agreed hangout needs to do some official late sets like they used to. I mean in 2016 that Friday when they opened late the city let them go til past 11 it was like close to 12:30 when Weeknd finished.
Also there was man unofficial after party's this year with decent lineups if you like edm. One was at Live Bait Thursday-Sunday from 9-2 called Hang'n In that had free shuttles That come pick you up and take you home.
There was another too on Sunday called Hung Over with Wick-it the instigator
plus all the beach/condo partys. i think we had at least 80-100 people out there sunday night behind ocean reef.
People paid thousands for Fyre Fest to have fancy tents and catered meals when you could just book a badass condo and buy all the top shelf drinks you want less than a grand.

Not a wishlist by any means. Not even close. Just trying to be realistic with enough acts I'd see and the demo they're trying to get with their booking strategy.
GALANTIS | FOSTER THE PEOPLE | GLASS ANIMALS | ZHU
I could work with this. #sorrybob
Ehhh, if ne215 wanted to go I'd be down. This ACL/VOODOO fall combo is spoiling me for headliner bookings.
I mean they're not really comparable though. ACL is one of the biggest fests in the country. Hangout's headliners will never be that big imo. That being said I'd love to see Kendrick and Arctic Monkeys, I'd def check out GD too even though I wouldn't be excited about it.
feel like there is a good amount of acts who are overdue to play. Solange, Glass Animals, Chromeo, Chvrches, Disclosure, J. Cole, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, LCD (seeing how they played every other fest), Incubus. Prob some more im missing too

I hate Martin Garrix too. Little to no shot I'll ever return to Hangout Fest unless some freak of schedule lines up where there are acts I actually want to see.
We're talking about finally taking the trip to Lock'n next year. The idea of no conflicts and the best Jam lineup on the planet just shoots down everything else. I'd like to go this year, but I'm going to have to wait until next year. But I felt like 17 was ideal.
2024: The Floozies, Phyphr, Disco Biscuits, Cimafunk, WSMFP, The Killers, Cory Wong, Dumpstaphunk, Bomba Estereo, Molly & Golden Hwy, Big Freedia, Payton/Nth Power, A.P&TFN

i know nothing about Garrix but from a distance last year at Made In America he sounded fine to me and i dont even like 99% of EDM.

Kendrick Lamar • Arcade Fire • The xx • Calvin Harris or Odesza Lana Del Rey or Lorde • Bassnectar or Pretty Lights or The Doobie Brothers • Run the Jewels Animal Collective • Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats • Thievery Corporation
This is way way way too good. No way we get Doobie Brothers and Run the Jewels.

It's a big production, but it's nearly 100% wimp pop, the kind of wimp pop you would love if you were a 14/15 year old that listened to Top 40 radio. I mean it's horrendous. He's actually a very talented DJ and producer for his age, and was even recently ranked #1 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine. No thanks on that. If you were up closer, it may have affected you differently.

You definitely can't beat Hangout for the convenience and atmosphere. You can watch music on the beach all day and then be back at the air conditioned condo in hardly any time.

I hear you on that. It once happened to me at ACL. I was on the hill waiting for I think Kendrick to come on, and Kaskade was over on the stage off to our right down the hill. It sounded good enough while drunk, and the light show was cool. But then I tried to watch him at Day for Night and got run the **** out of there to something else by the 3rd song.
