Anyone sit behind/side of stage at MSG? Still worth it if you can't really see the band?
I usually end up behind stage at least once a year for Phish and it's always fun. Not something I'd want to do all the time but you feel like you're almost on the stage so it's cool perspective.
Debating between behind the stage or behind the soundboard for vampire weekend tonight. Same price. How's the sound behind the stage? How much does the soundboard obstruct the view?

I was able to score a barstool seat across from the stage for vampire weekend. So sights will be good....not sure how sound will be up there but I'm excited to try the barstool seating. Never had them before and have heard good things.
I'm also maybe going to grab Brandi Tix soon too. Might have convinced my mom to go as part of a bday gift to her. We'll see

So, after my third time seeing a Jack White-related show at which the audience has to lock their phones up in those Yondr pouches, I have come to the conclusion that it is a Very Good Thing and should be the rule at every concert.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount

J- I totally agree! We arrived early last night (Friday @ Hammerstein) to get a great spot. At first, it was killing me to not get "that perfect shot" (never really is) of Jack shredding at the edge of the stage, but after while, it didn't matter. Also our third time seeing Jack White (MSG '15, Shaky Knees '18) and he was totally in his element here, locked in with the crowd just eating it up.
I won't mind giving up the phone/camera in the future, and just enjoying every single minute of the show.
Another stacked evening in the city. Morrissey/Interpol, The Raconteurs, Banks, Bob Moses, Weyes Blood. I’ll be at the Raconteurs enjoying some non-phone time. Hope all you kind folks are having a good live music evening. Cheers everyone,

Morrissey/Interpol was a fun time tonight. Some notes:
-Place was pretty empty when Interpol started and didnt really fill up until the final couple of songs. - Place ended up being like 80% full -Morrissey cut the two biggest songs from his set for some reason (Suedehead and First of the Gang to Die) - Earliest night ever, show ended at 9:35.

Also, if anyone can follow me on Loudie, it'd be much appreciated. I'm only 2 follows away from getting Willie Nelson tickets! My username is jp_porretta
YOWZA, I was right to be excited for The Raconteurs, they came out blazin' and pretty much kept it up the entire show. Hopefully it won't be another 11 years until they swing around here again. And I like Jack White best here and he seems happy in this group config. Fabulous show! Just missed the bus, but I hopped the (2) dollar van up Flatbush, made it home in 10 minutes.

Yeah, killer show. Blue Veins, Top Yourself, and Broken Boy Soldier stood out for me. Then the one-two punch of Sometimes (I don't feel like trying) into Carolina Drama just floored me. Such a great show. I had an awesome spot in the pit for Olivia Jean and then for Raconteurs. No real distractions or people blocking me.

Looks like behind the stage would have been just fine.

Official announcement coming tomorrow, but it looks like Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer are doing a tri-headlining show at Citifield August 2020.
The Interrupters opening too.
That'd knock a couple names off the "possible legacy booking" list for GovBall, so it would.
Plus it looks like Vampire Weekend is one of the headliners so another guitar-driven headliner would be one too many based on the previous years lineup.

Eh, I don't know - they had both Florence and The Strokes this year.

Think I'm gonna pre order the new Weezer album to get a pre sale code.
Prices aren't up for Citifield yet, but most dates have them as $29-$179
If there's a tiny GA section, I'm guessing that's going to be mostly "VIP Packages" so like $250 or so. I was actually, dare I say it, surprised when I attempted (and got shut out) to buy Tool floor tickets and they were "only" $150 so who knows but I'd still wager good seats are $200 + for this when Fall Out Boy themselves were charging like $200-300 for VIP packages.

Neat, I just found out I won a relix contest to get a relix subscription, a signed Lukas Nelson vinyl, and tix to tomorrow's Outlaw Music fest in Forest hills. I've already seen the festival a few times but free ticket and signed vinyl definitely entice me to go again.
