Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount
Okay, now what are your plans for tickets? Think it's best to wait? Or get them on sale day? I want your wisdom lol
I mean when it comes to arena shows this far out I just flat out can't spend that money. But regardless I'd think this plays out similar to Brandi or Vampire Weekend and it won't fully sell out until close to the show. No clue what prices will be like though

Ugh, got fucking waitlisted for the Verified Fan presale for Sturgill. Hopefully, the fact that I've had Sound & Fury on repeat since its release will lead to a Spotify code, or something.

Same here. Waitlisted
And tix are already on Stubhub. This system is just working like a Swiss watch.

As I've said before, Verified Fan is pretty bogus. I am sure there will be great tix for Sturgill Simpson during the general sale, MSG is a huge room for him, so don't panic.

Going to see live Comedy bang Bang podcast taping tomorrow but it doesn't start until like 10 p.m.
Anything going on lately around manhattan area (or anywhere easy to get to through subway) that would get me out early enough to head back to the Beacon for the 10 o clock show? Not just music but any attractions or things to check out. Otherwise I'll probably just take the train in and head to the show.

And then they're available again. I hate ticketmaster. Why did I wait in line/queue if it just brings me to a page that says sold out (while tickets are still available)? I guess I'm waiting until closer to the show to scope out some tickets.

I honestly think this is going to be an easy ticket to get secondhand.

Plenty of tickets were available (and still are) shortly after. It just pissed me off that I was waiting for 10-15 minutes and got in queue/waiting only for the page to eventually refresh and tell me that. It feels like forever between 10:00 and 10:01 when the page says "don't do anything, you will automatically refresh when the countdown is done" and I don't want to fuck it up. Then to be told sold out but I know it's not just is stupid.
I'll probably check in a few months from now. Maybe get a barstool seat or something else if reasonable.

Kinda bummed that the Foals/Local Natives tour is likely being swallowed up by Gov Ball as that would be an excellent show to have a T5/Hammerstein (even if T5 blows).

On the other hand, it might get me back to Gov Ball if there are going to be a few others in the same vein this year.

Scorching hot take: There is no show that it is "excellent" to have at T5.

Pretty much but if Foals and Local Natives can both play Brooklyn Steel on their own that might be the only relevant space although Prospect Park Bandshell, Pier 17 or Summerstage may also be good fit.
If anyone here recoiled at the prices for David Byrne's American Utopia on broadway, the TodayTix app has a ton of discount tickets for upcoming shows, with $39 same day deals. Saturday night's 9pm show has $59 tickets right now.
