Coldplay and Travis off a new album are the biggest rock and rap draws that they could book without repeating a relatively recent headliner (Coldplay hasn't played in 15 years and has ample albums since). Lana would be really weak but with Coldplay and Travis they'd need a really weak Friday one money wise. Hoping RTJ closes a stage against Lana or something.

Hate to be "that guy" but Coldplay hasn't been a rock act or even an alternative act for at least the last decade.
Yeah the headliners are Lana, Coldplay, Travis Scott. I don’t know what days each are doing but it’s them three.
I don’t know where tool came from and why it’s not them anymore but yeah it’s Coldplay instead.
-Posting three random names as the headliners per a source -Leaning into it harder as all three seem possible or borderline likely -Calling the source into question as one of the three look to be out, saying it's bunk info -Leaning back into two of the three as those look more and more likely -Claiming that the third headliner is "a band" per new info to cover your bases -Claiming the third headliner is Coldplay a day or two after a new potential Coldplay album hits the news
Just beautiful posting all around. Totally reliable stuff.

Can you imagine the reaction on this thread if quacking COLDPLAY headlines? All the people here who totally have tickets and actually attend the fest will be so mad.
Catching Tool tonight so in the imaginary impossible world where Tool does play and everything else about the lineup sucks, I can sell my ticket and move on.

Yes, unfortunately Coldplay has many albums since the last time they headlined.

Why do you keep pretending the people here don’t attend this festival?

Coldplay hasn't headlined since 2005 and have since become, arguably, one of the biggest bands on the planet. They can also run through a ton of guests in their set including Rhianna. It'll be a smart booking that will help them sell even faster.

i did a poor job keeping the 2018 thread updated, but for the past few years Coachella has been as popular (if not more popular) with inforoo as Bonnaroo.

Glasto attendees are dreading the potential of chris martin just dropping in on every meaningful act he can fit into his day. And even moreso if coldplay got onto the 50th line up. So the coldplay hate crosses oceans.

Imagine having enough free time and energy to come to a relatively niche music festival forum to lie about Coachella scoops, and then later contradict yourself.
On another note, if Chem Bros don't finally play, I'll be so goddamn sad.

I won’t be upset if one of the headliners is Coldplay. They are the perfect festival band for me. Someone I’d never pay the $150+ dollars to see alone, but would gladly watch play for 45 minutes at a festival before bouncing to something else.

It’s wild that they haven’t played since 2011. That was a great set despite the delay.

Really hoping DIIV returns this year. Their UK/EU tour finishes on 3/20 with no dates afterwards and their new album is excellent.
Also just echoing that Coldplay is a great choice for a headliner. Hopefully they play a lot from their first two albums...I know they won't, but I can DREAM!!!
