People would be much more hyped for Tame Impala if Kevin wasn't such a tool for agreeing to go on tour with the new set up they made exclusively for Coachella and the same thing happend in the summer of 2018 after that Panorama show the year before.
Confused what you mean by this?
Basically, they tour to much but festivals also want them to much. I've heard that after they were offered the headline spot at Coachella, some festivals wanted a part of the cake cause "there's a new album on the way", especially with the new set up they premiered. But that album didn't happen and those festivals already pulled the trigger so they toured the whole summer anyways, so yeah. And the same thing happened in 2018 after that Panorama-set. A lot of festivals in Europe were really ampted about that show and if there was new music, they'd 100% get booked. Mad Cool on their own pulled the trigger on them even though there was no sign on new music.

Coming from someone who really enjoys Tame, but have only seen them once on tour, you have a very valid point. They tour so extensively with so little music being put out. I feel like Kevin's music is so deeply rooted in his personal life and he is such a perfectionist that he just can't crank out albums like many other bands and artists can. I guess he's gotta keep the cash flowing somehow and with the band being elevated to Coachella headliner level status without any new music in 4 years, why stop? From a fans perspective I'd love more music and a new live show every year or two, but from a business perspective I see why they continue to do what they do. Anyways, not really arguing or agreeing, just expanding from my point of view.

They’re the quintessential “band I like that is also wildly overrated” on this forum. I have zero regrets about bailing on their Coachella set for Little Simz.
I did this at Panorama but for Motor City Drum Ensemble! They were decent, but I regret leaving Nicolas Jaar to try to get a decent spot for them
I feel like a total douche for missing that day because I was too exhausted. I would have only gone for one or the other and at 4pm... I was like, I'm not gonna make it across the city for Tame Impala...

Kevin was really wanting the album out before Coachella. All those festival dates were obviously booked with the hope himself that he would have the album out. But he was rushing and realized it wasn't going to happen. What should he have done, cancel on all the fests as a headliner? I don't see how not having the album completed and touring makes him a tool.
If this MMJ confirmation on Reddit is fake, I’ll lose my fucking mind. They would be top 6 right? Coheadline with Lizzo?
This one now makes me worry this guy is fake. When reality hits each year, it usually means that acts like Grimes are out for Roo, just like Twigs and Charli.

I don't know...two of his leaks so far have been confirmed (Lizzo and LSDream). If we get one of the artists he leaked as the clue (hopefully) today then I'm all in on his credibility

Remember when they accidentally announced Grimes in 14 in the lineup video but she wasn’t on the lineup ha. She does have new music coming but no shows announced yet that I’ve seen.
If this guy is right about about his confirmations (and honestly why tease names like Tchami and LSDream?), then this is shaping up to be a dope lineup imo. I want to believe so badly, but the MMJ confirmation is more of a reach, so we'll see.

Lizzo was leaked here first. He posted about it later.
LSDream is a better case for him, but there was a post on reddit where someone asked LSDream in person and he kinda metaphorically winked.
I'd like to hope this source is legit, obviously. But I'm worried about Tool, Tame, Lizzo, MMJ, Vampire Weekend (not yet sourced), Beck being to too big of a top line before even considering shit like EDM, The 1975, Oysterhead or whatever else will be taking up the real estate.

my big curiosity is where the headlining EDM and hip hop artists are. I feel like there's generally at least one of each in the top 6. not complaining especially if the rumor is true that they are stacking the undercard. that could mean 7-12 could contain some big names too. I'm wary because of the MMJ rumor but this leaker has been right so far
