Salsa is fine, there are variations that are better than others so putting them all in that umbrella it deserves to stay a little longer, but queso or guac is way preferable over a normal red salsa.

if i had to live in a world with only one of salsa, queso, or guac, i'd choose salsa every time. i think guac is a wonderful food but it's not better than salsa.

and i think queso is a fun treat and very delicious but it's not a mandatory food to me.

Herein lies the problem - is any guac better than a jar of salsa? Absolutely in my book - realizing that people have different tastes and that's what makes us unique. Is fresh made tableside guac better than a watermelon salsa made at your table? That's a much closer game. I'm thinking though that most of the time as a condiment you're having jarred salsa, which is fine, but fresh salsa has a value over replacement jar that's sky high.

The way I think of it 95% of Mexican restaurants have a salsa that makes me go "mmmmm that is so good I love salsa".
And while I'm pretty much that way with fresh guac too I just get more excited about salsa.

Everyone here needs to look deep into their hearts and ask themselves “do I eat more ketchup than almost any other condiment?” (Yes, unless you’re Vieux I guess) and “am I some kinda weirdo that keeps my ketchup in the pantry?” (Yes, if you’re Sang).
