We have all had a rough few years, but the week to reflect, reminisce and share our gratitude for what we have and hold dear is upon us. So what are you most thankful for?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

While I am here, I would like to share my gratitude towards this little board. Y’all have walked me through some dark days and given me the opportunity to meet some of my favorite people in life. I celebrate all of you and hope that you all celebrate how amazing you are too.

I'm thankful...
- that there has never been noteworthy drama within my immediate family - that my fiance hasn't taken back her "yes" yet - for the range of friends I still have from childhood to college to grad school to Jaguars to Inforoo - to have a stable career with my favorite NFL team and have bosses that I actually like
- for my sobriety - for my dads old high school friends who came out of the woodwork and started taking him out after mom died - for the people who harangued my dad to start playing pickleball and now he loves it and has new friends there - for a wife who loves being silly & waffle house as much as i do - for my friends - for inforoo and all the ridiculous & kind people here - for a job where i get to work with exceptional people who are way smarter than me but keep me around for some reason

I’m thankful
-for a husband I enjoy being around, and that he recently discovered that he likes Waffle House’s biscuits and gravy so now we get to go eat there sometimes; -for being close enough to my family that I can make trips up to see them relatively frequently; -that a longtime family rift has been at least somewhat healed in the last couple of years; -for lovely friends who remind me that sometimes it’s nice to be around people; -that we were able to move into a house this year that is a good fit for us and that is in a neighborhood that is awesome for taking walks in; -that I’ve discovered that I love strength training so much that I can no longer imagine my life without it; -for a job that has been letting me work from home for two and a half years now, which makes it a thousand times more tolerable; -that my family declined my Thanksgiving invitation and that after five this afternoon, I’ll begin a four-day weekend with nothing to do other than cook a ridiculous meal for just the two of us.
Oooooh. I lovvvveeee gratitude. postjack your post made me tear up. I'm grateful your dad has an amazing support system and is surrounded by love too. Gotta love that.
I'm grateful...
-to have the honor to love and share in my child's incredible light. I'm so thankful to be able to call him my son and to see him grow into an incredible human being. I've never known such a powerful love. -for the beautiful family and community I've built here in South Florida over the last 16 years. I'm so thankful I have beautiful humans to love and to be loved by. To know that people truly have my back in this world is an awesome thing. They make this capitalist hellscape so much easier to bear. -for festivals. After losing my way for awhile, I came back to what always made me feel the most connected to this world and all its magic. To have these spaces to be able to share in collective energy, connect with the universe, people like you guys here at inforoo and my incredible festie fam I've made along the way, it's nothing short of incredible. -for all the comrades out there putting in the work, spreading anti-capitalist sentiment and organizing in community and love within the working class. No war but class war bb!

I'm most thankful for... -My beautiful wife. We got married in September, and it was the best day of my life. I'm so grateful I get to spend the rest of my life with her. -Good music, especially live music. I'm so thankful to be back at shows, dancing and carrying on again. I'm quite thankful for Radiohead, Frank Ocean, LCD Soundsystem, Fiona Apple, FKA Twigs, Kendrick Lamar, Alex G, Talking Heads, Robyn, really too many to name -- they get me through the tough days. - My family, I wouldn't be here without them. They certainly are tough sometimes, but I'm grateful for the values they taught me and all the love along the way. - I'm so fucking grateful that I'm finally done with school. I miss it sometimes, but it's really nice to not have a paper or assignment due. - I'm very thankful for my two dogs and cat. - I'm grateful for my job. It's an honor to be able to listen, learn, remain curious, be empathic, and bear witness to the suffering, strength, and resiliency of people on a daily basis. - I'm grateful for my sobriety. It's been a journey, and I have nothing against alcohol and drugs but man were they not for me. 1 is too many, 1,000 is never enough. - I'm thankful for good food. - There's too many to list here. I'm very grateful that I signed up for a passport today, got a hotel in Barcelona, and will be going to Primavera Sound in June for my first fest back post-COVID, first one ever out of the country, and my first time leaving the US/Canada for a deferred honeymoon with the wife. - I can't stop. Lol. I'll add my health and all of you awesome people, especially for the many,many laughs and all the scoopz, but mainly for the sense of community with fellow music lovers.

- I’m thankful for my daughter. I’m still constantly amazed she’s actually here, and trying to be a good dad to her has brought an enormous amount of meaning to my life that wasn’t there before. - I’m thankful for the medical staff at Mt. Sinai pediatric hospital in Manhattan, who treated my daughter’s paralytic infection and patiently dealt with new parents who were terrified and completely at sea. - I’m thankful to have found a full-time job this year after over two years of cobbling together enough freelance work to make ends meet. - I’m thankful for music in all forms - live in concert, recorded, played by me for other people or just as a meditative practice. Music rules. - I’m thankful for surfing and the calming power of the ocean. - I’m thankful for my doggie. She’s the best. - Yeah, I’m thankful for this place. When my daughter was in the hospital, a bunch of people I’d never met before except in weirdo online arguments about breakfast food showed up for me in a material way that made a big difference. Who does that? And then, when I finally met some Inforoo folks IRL at Bonnaroo, everybody was super-cool and nobody even made me feel like an asshole for sending it WAY too hard on Saturday night. Scoopz or no scoopz, this is a fun place to be. - But I’m thankful for scoopz.

Thanksgiving has somehow become an important time for my family. Saturday will be my sister and her husband's wedding anniversary, and Sunday will be the one year anniversary of me coming out to my parents.
They've been far more supportive than I could have imagined. I'm thankful that they are, because I don't know how I would've managed starting this journey alone. I think I'm in a good enough spot to keep going, but I don't know if I would've reached this point without them, as flawed as they are.
I'm thankful that a TV station 700 miles away from home decided to take a chance. I'm thankful that Atlanta is starting to FEEL like home. It's been rough going, but I'm slowly starting to find my way here and find my place.
I'm thankful that I can comfortably say I have friends. People who will hang out with me and talk to me and actually care. It's a new feeling. And a nice one.
I'm thankful that I do what I love for a living. That every once in a while I can put out something that matters. Even just to one person, even something that makes someone go "I'd never thought of that!"
I'm thankful for movies and music and that I have people I can talk about those things with.
-My wonderful partner in life -Having a strong and wide family support system -Mine and my family's health -My kitty and my gecko -Music (music is just an incredible thing) -Gravy and grits -Friends on this board and otherwise that make life so much greater -Justin Herbert -All kitties in the world -Having a pretty awesome job even if I talk shit sometimes -Being alive!

This year - more than ever - I’m thankful for the healing power of music.
I’m thankful for the Flaming Lips, whose incredible show was that last push Marji and I needed to get through that last trudge toward the end of the school year.
I’m thankful for American Aquarium, whose Chicamacomico album I listened to driving back and forth to visit my sister in hospice. It provided the perfect soundtrack to what I was feeling and have felt most of this year.
I’m thankful that my girls made it home from vacation in time to see their aunt one last time, and I’m thankful that I had the privilege of singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Goodnight, Goodnight” to her one last time with my sweet Caroline.
I’m thankful for King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, who I listened to during that last drive to my sister’s house, knowing this song would be long enough to last the whole drive without making me break down like that Chicamacomico album.
I’m thankful for the night I danced with Marji and the girls under the stars in Millennium Park while Jeff Tweedy and a bunch of kids played “California Stars”, and it felt like everything was going to be OK.
I’m thankful for Brandi Carlile and Indigo Girls and Allison Russell and Red Rocks, the only place magical enough where it felt like maybe - just maybe - my sister was right there with us.
