Its time to finally have a thread dedicated to, my queen, Lana Del Rey. I know there are at least a couple of people on the board who follow her pretty closely like I do
So what do we think of the two singles off the new album? Production feels pretty rich. A&W does not sound like Antonoff to me, but apparently it is. Theme of the album so far feels like she is longing for true love and companionship instead of quick temporary patches in the human connection department.

You're doing the lord's work.
A&W is soooo good. When I heard that beat switch and she gave a little AKA/Lizzy Grant I about died.

I want to hear the album is its entirely the first time so I've avoided the new singles so far. Really looking forward to the new album tho. Her 4 album stretch over the last 5 years or so with Lust for Life-NFR-Chemtrails-Blue Banisters has been incredible.

LFL and NFR were amazing and got a lot of repeat listens, but Chemtrails got one bored half-listen and I never even listened to Blue Banisters. I’ll have to revisit those two
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I think Chemtrails is pretty underrated by Lana fans in general, I really like those songs a lot. Blue Banisters is great, I think a lot of it is upcycled demos from past albums.
Yeah I've replayed Chemtrails and Blue Banisters many times. Chemtrails had the misfortune of following NFR but I really do love it. Its very cohesive as an album, moreso than BB

I'd revisit Chemtrails when you can and would definitely check out Blue Banisters. Both were excellent in their own regard, even if not quite as good as the other two.
How I'd rank those 4:
NFR - personally a classic 10/10 album for me and my favorite from her.
Lust for Life - I know a lot of people didn't care for this one as much but I really enjoyed it. Probably my 2nd favorite Lana album.
Chemtrails - Another really good album, just slightly behind the other two. And yeah, following up NRF was going to be tough but I think she did a great job on it.
Blue Banisters - Again, I thought it was good, just not my favorite from these last 4. Some really good tracks on here tho. Arcadia is one of my favorite Lana songs for sure.

I was surprised to see so many online fans having a lukewarm reaction to Chemtrails when it came out, I think it's really beautiful. I agree that it's more cohesive than Blue Banisters as well. I don't know how to explain it really, those songs just kind of fill me with an emotion that is difficult to describe. Kind of a euphoric combination of nostalgia and hopefulness.
That's really why I love Lana so much. I have never found another artist with a discography that can evoke such a strong array of emotions in me. Listening to her is really cathartic for me.

Just hoping we get a tour after the new album. Its been years now since her last one and she has all this material that hasn't been performed live yet.

She has oddly not toured North America very often throughout her career.
Loving this... next Friday can't come soon enough!
ugh this is so good. Loving every single so far and I'm looking forward to some of these features too. Her writing has gotten so much more personal with BB and now this album

I have too many thoughts to share yet so all I'm gonna say for now is, wow!! She continues to amaze me as she evolves her craft.
Favorite songs so far outside of the singles are Fingertips (I cried), Paris Texas, Grandfather please..., Let the Light In, & Taco Truck x VB. Picking up my vinyl after work <3

I like this a lot. Some really gorgeous stuff, great ballads and great singer/songwriter stuff here. After first listen I really like the FJM song, The Grants, Did You Know.., the Jon Batisie song. The first few seconds I heard the trap beat on Peppers I started to roll my eyes and think "oh here we go.." but I think it's actually good.
It's a little long but what's Lana without some excess. Glad to see she got a professional to mix this album for the first time since NFR lol. Also easily her best album since NFR imo.

Listened to it one time through and definitely have to give it another few listens before I make a full judgement. But first impressions so far...
- Another solid album. I'm pretty much a Lana stan at this point so I don't see myself ever disliking an album from her. Not sure this one is quite as good as her previous 3 albums for me but I hold those 3 in really high regard, so that's not necessarily a criticism of this new one. Writing is great as usual, but the production just may have taken a little step back for my taste. But again, I have to listen some more so I'm sure it will grow on me. And I certainly still like it overall.
- I don't usually have a problem with longer albums in general, especially from artists I really like. But this one seems like it could have had a few songs shaved off to make it a more well-rounded project. Like, the interludes could go. Also Taco Truck is just a remix to Venice Bitch... Not sure we needed that and rather just listen to the original (which I love.)
- I really enjoyed all the collaborations on this album.
- Favorite songs so far: Title track, Let the Light In, Grandfather Please Stand..., The Grants, Paris Texas.
- The long song/album titles crack me up lol. Can't wait til her next album, "So Much of My Life is Sitting at My Metaphorical Desk Alone and Writing and the Majority of It Is My InnerMost Thoughts"... or something like that.
Finally got to listen to it in its entirety. Hell yes. Her writing is incredible and she got the production to go with it this time around. Feeling all types of ways from the lyrics. I hope she finds the stability I feel like shes looking for. Instrumentals are lush as hell. Need a bunch more listens
Despite all the great lyricism, Paris, Texas is my favorite on first listen based on what just sounds and feels good. A lot of themes and direct lyrical cut and pastes spread across multiple songs throughout. I feel like I want to look at the whole thing on paper and connect the dots lol
