If you go to Google and search news for: Bonnaroo, you'll find Rolling Stone's Rock N Roll Blog which says about Zach being pulled out of whatever hole he's hiding in to play Coachella with Rage Against the Machine, as well as Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, and the Smashing Pumpkins (not confirmed, however rumored since the reunion was confirmed in 06). Everyone of those is true except like I said the Pumpkins which may turn out to be true. The next sentence then is "Then a few months later Bob Dylan, the Police, and Pearl Jam will rock Bonnaroo" After that, it jokes that John Lennon, Elvis, and James Brown with rise from the dead for encores. In all seriousness though, the Rock N Roll Blog is usually online before it hits news stands, perhaps the "official leak" just might be part of the real partial lineup .

Hollllllllllllllllllllllllllly nuts. This is too good to be true. However, the blog links to a rumor site which lists these acts along with the aforementioned three:

Isn't that the same thing that was on wikipedia? There's been no confirmation on this, especially from the Manchester Times (the supposed source). I remain skeptical...

So can we say we basically have a confirmation for The Police and Pearl Jam to headline, Dylan to appear (maybe headline?....though this still does not seem likely to me)
Just because many have seen Dylan and not found it at all exciting dont dare count him out. Hes a weird dude and goes through stages. Sometime he is still and silent then the next tour is the loudest thing youve ever heard.

I saw him this fall...his band was pretty damn awesome, he was awesome too, the set was amazing....but it was comparatively short...an hour 45 minutes probably...shouldn't a 'Roo headliner be able to fill 2.5 hours?

Dylan could headline. The problem is, you're thinking of the 2004 version they had of Bob Dylan. You're probably forgetting that Rolling Stone named Bob Dylan the top artist of the year in their poll, he also had one of the top selling records of 2006 (Modern Times). (Those achievements aren't that different than Tom Petty's new album in 2006, and his "last" major tour). Bob Dylan could easily headline on those achievments alone, without looking at the other 40-50 years he's been around. Also, he is not with the same band as he was when he played 2004. This band is supposed to have breathed new life into him. I saw him twice 2004 and I thought it was bad ass and although I'd rather have Dave Matthews Band or Widespread Panic headline, I definately will find a good spot to see Rolling Stone's top artist of 2006, Bob Dylan, at Bonnaroo. If you still think he can't headline, take a listen to Modern Times, perhaps that will change your mind.

Oh also, as artists additions or bands that aren't listed yet, I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilco, Moe., Bob Weir and Ratdog, or OAR. Moe. is already playing 10,000 Lakes so I wouldn't be shocked to see them return. Wilco has a new album coming out May 15th and the last time they played was 2004 (Ghost is Born), Bob Weir and Ratdog are also booked for 10,000 Lakes but Roo has never not had anything related to the Dead. OAR is supposed to spend most of 2007 touring. Of course, Trey will probably be there but, the one that I'm really hoping for is, the last year for String Cheese Incident. I really hope they put in a Roo appearance or at least, Keller Williams INCIDENT.
Isn't this all stemming from that original lineup "leak" from The Manchester Times a week or two back? It would appear so. I'm not buying it just yet. That's Rolling Stone's blog, so it's not like a solid confirmation. That said, maybe I should be digging up some Police material.

its just someones wish list. there seems to be alot of people happy about it. but i think it would be by far the weakest roo lineup yet. i think its pretty obvious it isnt real. im sure a lot of those acts will be at roo though. but i think the headliners are not accurate. its always fun to speculate. but this is not a leaked lineup. id say few things are more sure in life.

Not to be negative here, but Rolling Stone's Live Music Blog is no more reputable than a thousand other blogs out there. A great deal of the "news" that makes the blog will never make it to print. Rollling Stone is sooooo unerelvant and out of touch with info pretaining to progressive music and it's supporters. I would love to be wrong about this one...just don't get your hopes up(too late) thinking this is "breaking news".

I wouldn't say this is the weakest lineup at all look at once more, I'll make it stand out for you.

Your jam bands are in bold (at least the big name ones I can think of) You've get your indie in there as well with everything else that really doesn't fit into a category. If I recall correctly last year the jam bands announced INITIALLY were, Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Robert Randolph, Bela Fleck, and Moe, were there were only four really well known jam bands and Les Claypool. All the really cool jam bands, Oysterhead, Umphrey's, the Disco Biscuits came from artist announcement and the surprise Superjam of Mike, Trey, and the Duo. This is not the weakest lineup, I would consider this better than 2006 and Id even say 2005. The only thing 2006 had that made it so amazing was Radiohead. Dylan as a headliner is in some people's minds a little weak but I think he'll be bad ass and people were pretty happy when Pearl Jam was rumored as the big headliner, now it's the Police with Pearl Jam as the second big headliner. A weak lineup, hardly.
Well, I agree it's weak, but only because there's so few bands on it. The real announcement will have many more bands that should hit each person's preferred genre.
Let's not get too riled up debating someone's wishlist.
well most of the bands youve highlighted arent jambands.. the roots? a jamband? although im excited as hell about them. toots is jam? bela is jam? and itsnot even about jam. but when ya look at what waka has its much better. imo. and pearl jam would be a greast show. im also excited about the crowes, grace potter, and the hold steady. pearl jam while i dont think they should headline would be as good or better then petty. but im not saying its not a decent lineup that i wouldnt want to go see. just the weakest out of roo so far. as far as my preference is concerend.

For me it would be the best, but that's a personal prefererence.
I'll agree with whoever said that Big Hassle wouldn't say that the leaks were correct. It doesn't make any business sense to say "Oh, yeah, that's our lineup." Saying it's not the lineup is really all they can say, if they say maybe it's as good as saying yes. I'm not saying I believe the leaks, there's just this little bit of hope deep in me that keeps telling me my dreams will come true.

Initially the lineup(or wishlist) is unreal! Waka's lineup looks STALE to me. Bonnaroo is, and hopefully, continues to be the most progressive music festival in the states. And about Dylan.... We all know he's old, he plays fairly short sets, and most of us don't think of him as a Roo headliner. Having said that, it's also common knowledge that the man is a legend among legends. It seems to me that someone as intelligent, insightful and understanding as Bobby Z. would have something special planned for Roo if he accepts a headlining slot. He certainly has the catalog of songs to fill the slot and with the guest possibilities, I envision a phenomenal "The Last Waltz" kind of evening that's only possible at Bonnaroo. Sure, there are a few other acts I would rather see headline, but Dylan is just too smart to make himself look like a tired old fart.

I seem to recall last year that th headliner rumor mill about this time was all about Radiohead, Petty and Beck, but it turned out that beck was just the 3rd biggest name the tastemakers saw on the list. I think something along those lines may happen, with Dylan being there but going on before a headliner like The Dead or Widespread. I'd love for the "Last waltz" thing to happen, though.
