Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I don't know if this has been brought up.. but Thao with the Get Down Stay Down (Used to be simply Thao Nyugen) will be touring with Rilo Kiley at the time of the festival. As of right now, they don't have any tour dates during Bonnaroo, so I could see them being added. I actually really enjoy their music, so I think it would make a nice low-level band to be added.
As I posted in another thread, this comes from Townshend himself regarding the Who. Reminder, this was posted in February, but who knows...
"There is a chance we might play some shows in the Festival season this summer. I would want to do that purely for fun, and I don't want to turn it into a big tour. I need to stay focussed on my writing."
I haven't seen them at any other festivals yet, so why not Bonnaroo?

This is a long shot, but what about A Perfect Circle being A PART of the big announcement. These guys have been inactive for a while and I don't see why they couldn't reunite for a one off show. As of the last touring lineup; Keenan, Howerdel, Iha, Twiggy, Freese, none of these guys have any dates listed during the 12th-15th with their current projects.

So I think for the "big announcement" they are going to say at least one of these bands are gonna play....Sonic Youth, The Breeders, Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Cake, Beck, Eric Clapton, or Beirut....
Tell me what you think. Even if you think I'm crazy.

Well well well...people sure do loose hope and get all negative REALLY fast these days!???? I personally am very happy to see a HUGE number of the bands on the bill! I REALLY wanted to see the Allmans also - but I understand - and it is pretty evident that they will be there within the next two years and kick our donkeys with a killer performance! Are you negative fun-sponges forgetting about the fact that we still don't know who is in store for the super jam!?!!! None of us thought for a second that who showed up last year would've been what they were cooking up and if you were there it was amazing!!! In case you weren't, about a week before the weekend we were all waiting for...they announced that John Paul Jones, ?uestlove & Ben Harper were doing the super jam...and JPJ played with around 3-5 others the entire weekend! He obviously liked being at Roo. There are many possibilities...and already way more than enough to see....and I bet you all that they still have things up their sleeves to make us freak out!!! They never let us down...just be excited for what we have, be excited for what we don't know about yet...and BE EXCITED FOR BONNAROO!!! There's no place I would rather be, and it's like being home every single year I go!!! I LOVE going to ROO! Lets spread some positive energy please PLEASE! It makes me sad to see so many people complain and forget about the fun! Plus - positive vibes bring special surprises and special times! See y'all at ROO!!!
So..... the Rolling Stone this month says that Kings of Leon will be playing at BOnnaroo this year after Metallica and Chris Rock. I'd say that pretty freakin awesome!!! I love the artist additions

i think if me and you are reading the same article, you may be mistaken.
"Coachella might have Cameron Diaz in the VIP tent, and Lollapalooza might draw more fans, but Bonnaroo — where 80,000 congregate each summer in the wilds of Manchester, Tennessee — is the ultimate over-the-top summer festival. (The seventh edition kicks off June 12th, with Metallica, Pearl Jam and Jack Johnson.) From the freewheeling camping area — where you can buy everything from moonshine to mescaline — to legendary sets by everyone from Wilco to Ornette Coleman, Bonnaroo is super-fan-friendly. And artists love it too. "We've played at noon — that was hot and crazy and scary — and we've played on Sunday, when everyone was fried from partying," says My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James. Last year, Phil Lesh camped out in his RV, and this year, the Kings of Leon will drive down from Nashville even though they're not on the bill. "We make it a point to go down there with a whole posse of friends," says James, whose band will play a late-night set following Metallica and Chris Rock. If that trio doesn't sell you on Bonnaroo, listen to Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips: "I like Coachella and Lollapalooza, but as far as the magnitude and the weirdness, Bonnaroo is the one."
at first i thought kol would be there but this is a bit misleading when they mention the band will drive up there and play, when really they mean MMJ.
if this isn't what you read then i look like a complete douche and feel free to smite me......here comes the pain.

^ I read something that They are going down there even though they aren't on the bill. Maybe just to watch? Although I'd be really happy with a Kings addition.
I got re-excited about the Roo today for sure. Popped some classic Chris Rock dvds. Man I forgot how much I dig that guys standup. So he's gonna be on Sat with Metallica apparently. So I guess he's gonna be the opener for Metallica. Nice going Roo. Trick me into being there for Metallica by baiting me with The Rock. Ah well. Regardless of how much they dont fit, Metallica's show will be good if they keep it classic Metallica. On a side note, why has Ryan Adams never played the fest? You'd think he'd be a no brainer.

Here's something I'd like to see late night at Bonnaroo. Got it from the All Good Festival website:
The JOIN was created when keyboardist Jamie Shields and drummer Darren Shearer of theNEWDEAL, enlisted STS9's David Murphy to fill in for bassist Dan Kurtz. After its initial great success, Jamie and Darren developed The JOIN, a format where they will host a revolving door of musicians depending on what area of the world they're in. The music takes the flavor of each setting, situation and guest performer, but is championed thru their distinctive livetronic sound. Every performance is a special event and All Good is no exception. The JOIN will enlist good friends, Marco Benevento & Joe Russo (the DUO) for a special amalgamation that should not be missed.

Looks like George Porter Jr (Porter, Batiste & Stoltz to be exact) will be on the farm this year. That makes at least 6 bass players from the Gov't Mule Deep End Session on the farm. Perhaps... We know Warren Haynes is free the weekend, as well as the rest of Gov't Mule... It is the 5th year anniversary of the Jazz Fest Show. I'm just sayin', maybe...? Perhaps superjam?
