Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
It is going to be so worth it. I promise. The next few weeks may get better, or they may suck. But regardless Bonnaroo is like a light at the end of the tunnel. Once you're there you're going to forget all about the shitty stuff. It's like 4 (or 5, depending on when you're showing up) days where you quite literally escape reality. Congrats on your weight loss and healthier lifestyle. That's a positive no matter how you spin it. Things will turn around for you, they always do. Just hang in there. <3
You know, I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately, I think i'm throwing in the towel on this year's festival. I think that I can't/won't be able to enjoy bonnaroo to it's full potential. I'll be probably selling my ticket and my returning my camping gear this weekend. I've looked at the schedule and I got 21 bands I want to see. I'm not dying to see. And like I previously said, it was the experience of bonnaroo. I've seen the videos from Bonnaroo and when I used to be excited, now i'm just not.
I think i'll just save the money.
I'll probably delete my profile by the end of the week.
Last year I didn't think I was going to make it. I had lost my job, was in the early stages of getting divorced, needed to find a new place to live, and I didn't even have a ticket. The Bonnagods worked their magic (aka QSAROO) and bam I had a ticket. I was super stressed about going solo even though I was camping with Inforoo. i was even more stressed because I couldn't drive my car down and didn't have small camping gear to fly out. I can't even tell you how how stressed and depressed I was last year at this time., and how close I was to not making the trip down but going what exactly what I needed. It was great to see everyone and I had a better time going solo. If you make it down I know you'll go home so much happier. I'll be camping in TO with Inforoo and I'll make sure we save you a spot.
EDIT: sparta890 I just saw your making it in the yay thread. Sometimes usually anytime in the morning i can't function too well. Anyways......if you need anything let me know! and I'll be sure to save you a spot if still needed in TO.
Me: Bonnaroo is less than a month away! Car: Today seems like a good day to overheat!
Did you see my post in random thoughts? We're wonder twins!
Haha I just saw it! I bought some crap that you put in your radiator that's supposed to fix leaks. My car is beat to hell and has almost 200,000 miles on it. I refuse to put any money into it so if this doesn't work new car it is. I knew I was going to need a new one soon, I was just hoping to hold off until the end of the year.

That stop leak stuff can be bad news bears on your radiator in the long run, so it probably is time to start thinking on that new car. Mine is 200k+ miles too, so I'm definitely having to balance out cost of repairs versus cost of new car at this point.

I heard about it being bad but this stuff had good reviews on every website. At this point my car isn't worth too much, so I plan to drive it until it completely gives up on life. I need to drive from Chicago up to a little north of Milwaukee this week for work so that'll be a good test. I drove my car after putting the gunk in it and it didn't run hot, and my air condition actually was working. I know it's time to admit I need a new car but I'm not giving up just yet. Hang in there little car, I believe in you.
That shit was scary last night. House was completely under water. Half a dozen houses on the river are completely gone, just slabs left.
In just over two hours, the river went from 5' to 41'. Old record from 1929 was 33'.
Thankfully we're safe, and our animals are safe. Cat spent a scary night outside.
My parents are leasing the house, about to buy it. House is totaled, everything in it is gone. And no flood insurance since they hadn't bought the house yet. So they're not responsible for the house, but All the content inside is gone.
Shit is crazy. The 200 year old cypresses along the river, they're ALL GONE. Never seen anything like this.
We spent an hour putting stuff on bricks and getting things off the ground. All a waste of time, water was above the roof. There was a giant roll top desk that got taken out of a window in the house. If we knew if was going to be like that, we could have loaded stuff in the car. Never in our dreams did we think it would be that high.
Blew past the 500 year flood plain with abandon.
The sounds last night were insane. You could hear giant trees snapping and wiping houses out of existence.
Someone said they saw a car floating down the river with 4 people in it.
When we left the house to go to the neighbor's, the water was staring to come in the front door.

So glad you're safe. Flash flooding ain't no joke. Material shit sucks to replace but you and your loved ones are irreplaceable, just remember that, even though I'm so sorry.

Rothric, I am so very sorry. How terrifying. How tragic. Is there ANYTHING we can do for you?
Just checking this thread.. sparta890 I just wanted to add another echo to my first Roo being solo and it being incredibly amazing. Soak it all in.
Rothric Your snaps left me speechless. I'm glad you and your family are safe; please let us know if there's anything we can do.

I have been texting Rothric today and I thought I would let everyone know that he seems to be in good spirits, all things considered. He said a lot of people in the community is helping them out. He said some they don't even know. He said they should be finished cleaning up tomorrow. He also said he really appreciated the messages he's gotten from people he's met here.

Thanks for the update! I always worry about messaging people in such circumstances because I feel like they are already overwhelmed with a bunch of other messages and whatever it is that has them down at the time. Good to know that are getting things together and the community is coming together.

Thanks for letting us know how he is doing. Rothric hang in there. I'm glad you and yours are Ok.
Many thanks to everyone for their concern and support, it does mean a lot. Not really sure what you could do, besides send some positive energy our way.
Thankfully the support from the community has been absolutely incredible. It really does restore your faith in humanity when you see so many people come together in a crisis. There have been countless people that just show up to help, whom we've never even met before. People drive down the road and hand out food and water to people working. Everyone has been amazing. Many people offering places to stay, to take things home to clean and wash. People offering barns to store things, trucks and trailers to move it. People in the town are offering free child care for people to work.
We probably had a group of close to 30 people there today. If we have a comparable group tomorrow we, should be close to done with the primary cleanup. Lots of stuff to still go through and clean, but the main part done.
My parents were leasing the place, waiting for their current house to sell before they bought this one. Thankfully they didn't buy it yet. They had renters insurance, but not flood, so none of the contents are covered. Owner of the house had some flood insurance on it, but it won't cover the contents either. Most everything's destroyed. Some things are salvageable, but not a lot.
However, just 30 minutes ago my mom got a text. Someone had found her jewelry box and it had a good amount if it still in it. Still not exactly sure how they found out it was my mom's, think it might have had to do with an engraving on something and then some Facebook magic. So amazing that someone found it, and made the effort to locate my mom. Would have been easy to pocket it for thousands of dollars.
Will hopefully write more in a day or two. Thanks again to everyone for their kind words.
