well i've gotten over the grrrr of it already. my buddy probably isn't going to be able to obtain his license in time to drive for roo. so now i will be taking my vehicle with interlock which sucks. just means i have to be good in nashville on tues night and sunday at roo (i can't fail right now cuz i can get it taking out on july 1st but if i fail it resets my final 90 days). this also means i need to buy new tires for my car, which i was gonna need by winter anyways so whatever i guess. i'm gonna fucking do whatever it takes to make it
Rothric, I'm sorry I missed all of this. I hope you guys are safe. I should have known there was a reason you weren't around so much. I tend to only come in here when I have something I need to vent about. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
My oven just shit the bed. On a plus note, I have something to throw over my railing this weekend and watch explode. Life isn't so bad, I was just in the middle of making baby food.
Tomorrow is my birthday. I was supposed to have a second round interview for a job that I really want. I even got a haircut today after work. Then I checked my e-mail and saw that they need to re-schedule. For some reason, this really ruined my mood. I genuinely was looking forward to this interview more than any gift I could receive. I know its not the end of the world, but I was ready to go in there tomorrow and show them why I need to be hired. Instead, there will be another week where they might go and hire someone else.

That's a drag. I had an interview today that I was lookin' forward too, not with super high hopes...but high enough that I was majorly let down durin' the interview. I guess I liked that the manager was honest enough to say there wasn't really any possibility of advancement. Back to he drawin' board.

Sometimes, especially here, the admins will call and schedule the interviews without looking at calendars to make sure the people doing the interview are actually available. So rescheduling is a common thing for us here. I understand your frustration though. I stress out over interviewing and don't like a lot of time to sit and think about it lol but I doubt they hire someone before they interview you. BUT JUST REMEMBER.....
My dumb ass closed my trunk door on my phone last week. Good came out of it, I have a new phone with a different company now and am paying less and got more. I lost all my concert in my phone though since the screen won't turn on to unlock it to get information off of it. Contacts can be replaced. Not a big deal. But it just occurred to me that I lost all my photos from Shaky Knees that I hadn't transferred off my phone yet... I don't even know what other pictures were on there that I hadn't transferred yet, but I'm sure there were more. sad face indeed.

You had an iPhone right? Can't you access the pictures through iTunes if you plug the phone into your computer

That's what I tried to do. But when you connect it on a new computer you have to 1) have it unlocked 2) give the computer permission to access your data, which you do by selecting "trust computer" on your phone screen (which mine doesn't work). I have it connected to my laptop, but when I bring up iPhoto it just brings up a bunch of empty squares instead of showing the photo. When I tried to import anyways an error message came up saying that it couldn't load the image. Not sure what else I can do really.

I kept getting an error with my photos previously and I uninstalled iPhoto and reinstalled it. Not sure if that would fix your problem but may be worth a try if everything was backed up to the cloud. It worked for me, I have no idea why it worked but I read on Mac page to give it a try so I did.
Finally back at work, and had a minute to go through some of the pics/videos I took.
This first video shows us driving on the bridge over the Blanco on RR 12 going into Wimberley. Keep in mind, that the water was 4' over this very bridge when the flood was at its peak. This is also the bridge that the family floating down the river in the house hit before the house broke apart.
This is a video I took while driving down Flite Acres Rd (the road my parents lived on) the morning after the flood.
Slab where a house used to be, about 4 doors upriver. If you see that white car in the far distance, that's where another house got washed away. It was up on that cliff.

I just can't wrap my head around this. I can't even imagine. I can't express how very glad I am that you & your family are alright. Material things can come & go, and while they can have great meaning to us, as long as you & your loved ones come out ok, that's what matters most.
Thank you for sharing those, Rothric. It's just so awful. I'm glad you guys are ok and thank you so much for helping out down there. I can't even imagine how difficult that is.
Kitty is staying overnight at the emergency vet. Urinary blockage again. I'm still sick as a dog, hacking up my lungs but I have to go to work tomorrow in order to have the time off for Bonnaroo.

and i mean this in like a super nice way. Chin up!
Original buyer on my house backed out. Something about going through a divorce and having to stay in the same school district. The back up buyer withdrew their offer today too in favor of another house. Looks like my house is back up for sale and I have to get it back in show condition. Bright side I guess is that I don't have to rush to get rid of stuff... Shitty side is that I'm back to square one and being unsure of how much I'll get for the house. :/
For the last three nights we have been attempting to get my wife mac and cheese. She's been sick and that's all she's been craving. (Real mac & cheese - not out of a box.)
The first night the six cheese mac & cheese I got ended up made with bacon. She apparently does not want bacon in her mac & cheese.
The second night my in laws picked some up for her after we had to scrap plans to meet them for dinner due to baby & illness issues. It also had surprise bacon in it.
Determined to turn this around I tracked down a place that had basic mac & cheese. No buffalo chicken. No sun dried tomatoes. And most importantly no bacon. Just plain mac & cheese.
It was too bland.
And now I have an buttload of mac and cheese in my fridge if anybody wants some.

Poor Nuggs! Poor Julie! Hope you're both feeling better very soon

Easy recipe: Cook up some pasta and set it aside. Take one stick of butter and melt it in a medium saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of flour. Stir constantly and cook until the starchy smell is gone. Slowly add 3 cups of milk, stirring/whisking constantly. Bring to a simmer until it costs the back of a spoon. Add some kosher salt.
Pour off one cup of that nice bechamel you just made and save it for later in the week.
Toss in 2 cups of your favorite combo of cheeses to what left in the saucepan. Stir until melted. Add the pasta. You can serve creamy as is or bake it off topped with some bread crumbs or crushed crackers.

See, my wife makes excellent mac and cheese so I try not to tread on her "stuff" so I just wanted to get it from a restaurant. If one of us already makes something well, the other doesn't venture into their territory.
For example:
Her mac and cheese tuna melts breakfast entrees (eggs, pancakes, french toast) bacon (baked)
Me tacos chili grilled meats bacon (fried)
There are also a bunch of things that neither one of us owns that are pretty much situational until one of us "owns" it.
Okay... I also reeeeeally didn't want to make mac and cheese.
See I usually think most mac 'n cheeses are sub par unless they have some processed cheese in it. When it's based in real cheese, I usually find it bland and oily. Decent at best.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

i had the white cheddar craft mac 'n cheese last night and it was amazing
I can't really do the Kraft because it's just a mushy excuse for pasta. If I do go for a box, I go for Velveeta shells. Hearty real pasta and creamy cheese! And I don't keep milk or butter in the house normally so if I am going for that box drunk, I couldn't make the Kraft. Velveeta doesn't need any other ingredients!

Velveeta >>> Kraft
There is no comparison. Kraft is what you make when you're too drunk/stoned/borderline passed out to taste the difference.
For premade/processed mac and cheese, Velveeta is where it's at.
