Gogol Bordello could pull Thursday off before flying to UK for the Download Festival?
No chance. After playin' a Which set and then curatin' the Other Tent there is no way they would be scheduled fer Thursday. Unless we finally get a Thursday night headliner.
I love that Coachella has two weekends but think it would be great if Thursday could expand their lineup (such as headliners, etc.) to grow the festival.
Having said that it IS my first Roo and I gathered there is no chance.
muthaf**ka, does that mean they aren't broadcasting the second weekend again?
I honestly have no idea if they are broadcasting both or not. I was hoping they would so that I could decide on which bands to watch but just posted what I have so far...
Sorry, not really knowledgeable or dedicated to keeping up on these things.
I honestly just consider myself lucky enough to be attending Bonnaroo.
"Hi friends, We'll be doing a headlining tour across the U.S. in May/June. Also, we just confirmed a 2nd set at Bonnaroo. See below for our full schedule. Look forward to meeting you all out on the road!"
2nd set will be "stripped down" on the Solar Stage.
It will be my first Bonnaroo but I'm sure I can find the presumably smaller stage, also.
I don't have much to say or add. I basically started my diet/training program March 11th. I figured 3 months is enough for a boot camp so I'll see what I can do.
I just wanted you to know there's someone else in the struggle also. I'll try my best to encourage everyone else along the way and to give my final progress the week before.
Can someone explain the process to a first time attendee at how the comedy tent works, please? I read about people standing in line for hours to get tickets, etc... Is that just for the more popular shows? Do they let VIP in before anyone , etc?
You can get tickets for the show you want to see by standing in line. Get in line during the show before the one you want to see. After you acquire your ticket you are free to wander around till they start letting in for the show you want to see. VIP as far as I am aware doesn't get any special entry. Some of the more sought after performances have people lined up for quite some time. I have hit a few shows up Thursadys before. Never really had to wait in a line for any of them to get tickets but Friday and Saturday I have seen some rather long lines.

Glad to see you are happy about Macca. Hopefully, you will be able to check out a DMB date on their summer tour. Make sure to check out the full line-up as there are probably several on there that you may love. Have you heard Lord Huron by chance? Not a DMB clone by any means but a super solid add to the undercard that a lot of people don't seem to know.
In a strange turn of events Lord Huron is opening for Dave Matthews at The Gorge. Not a show I'll be able to afford this year but still thankful for you turning me onto him. I'll be sure to catch the set at Bonnaroo.

That is solid. I'm going to see the two legends for sure but just wander the rest. See you there!
I have to laugh at all the people giving this guy shiz. I've lurked on inforoo long enough to know that they get headliners wrong all. the. time. Just absurd for everyone in this thread to go so far as to say that they know not only Macca is playing but WHEN he's playing as well. lol. Simply laughable.
imarob I would tell you not to lose faith. These guys predict Macca every year.
Did you have something else to say you useless shiz?
It's shocking how negative you are. I'm happy Macca is going to be there.
But I am sad at how much you enjoy belittling people.
I'm like the biggest d*ckhole on here and even I feel bad about people giving you grief, imarob. For reasons explained, DMB is likely not playing. No worries.
No problem. I don't like seeing people getting railed on that don't deserve it. Also I bolded a couple words that I left out before to make it a bit more concise. That's what I get for not proof-reading.
Edit: On a side note, I've never seen DMB before, and I'm totally going to that Tampa show. It's five days after I turn 21.
It's a nice venue because it's right across from The Hard Rock. West Palm is also a nice venue. I've seen him at both. Enjoy your 21st!
imarob don't take what these guys say to heart. Their perspective is out of whack as far as what it is like to be a new member. They have to realize that not everyone knows everything right away, and even all of these headliner confirmations on here (for Macca and Petty) are super easy to find the source to. It's easy to understand why a new member would be skeptical of what we consider "confirmed." I can see why a newb wouldn't believe Macca is a headliner just because a few members are saying that it's happening. But that's how it is, and if you stay here you'll come to gain a better understanding of it. And of course a Thursday headliner will (most likely) not happen, but again, it's easy to see why someone who has never been to Roo would think that. Does it mean that you deserve to have a bunch of people jump at your throat? Not at all. So just stick it out and you'll see it's not too bad here. Be careful though and definitely read the essential "New Member" threads.
DMB has been my Sunday headliner guess for a while. I noticed that there weren't any Atlanta dates on the tour. Y'all think that could be due to the radius clause?
Welcome to the Inforoo community. Please note that the word "community" is being used in the sense that this is a large group of people with similar interests, and is absolutely not being used the way hippies use it. You know what I mean, brah.
If you want to have a happy, healthy and enjoyable experience here, and wish to avoid being hated and mocked mercilessly by people just like me (because I have nothing better to do than hate hate hate), here are some suggestions as to "do" and "do not." Think of them as helpful guidelines, except that when you don't abide by them everyone else will secretly be hoping that someone tampers with your brakes.
- Please refrain from attempting to claim you have some SUPER SECRET inside information about who is playing this year. If you're lying, we'll find out, because idiots try this crap every year. And we will never, ever stop making fun of you for it.
- Try to make clear, concise posts that add to the discussion. Rather than simply post saying "I agree," or "yeah Mastodon is awesome," explain why you like something, why you disagree with something, etc. Logic and coherence are your friends.
- Don't start a thread on a topic without at least checking back a few pages in any given forum to see if there is a similar or identical thread already in existence. For instance, if you're ultra excited about the possibility of My Morning Jacket playing at Bonnaroo 2013, don't just start up a "MY MORNINING JACKET HEADLINER" thread on page one - check that page, and pages two and three, to make sure there isn't a thread about My Morning Jacket already. If you're ultra excited about the possibility of Skrillex playing at Bonnaroo 2013, just toss yourself into oncoming traffic.
- Learn the different forums and their purposes. There are forums and subforums for pretty much every topic you could think of, so take a few minutes and figure them out so that you can more easily locate the type of information you're looking for. As an example, if you're looking for music downloads, there is a "downloads" subforum in the Troo Music Lounge. If you want to discuss the Roo Clues, there's a subforum for that too. Everything in its right place.
- Similarly, try to keep your posts/threads in the right forum or thread. For instance, don't start a thread about how stoked you are about Wakarusa in the "Troo Music Lounge" forum - there is a sub-forum dedicated to discussion of non-Bonnaroo related music, so take it over there. Likewise, if there is a thread entitled "Headliner Speculation," don't go in there and start posting about how you think Flying Lotus would make a great late night act. You're right, but it's in the wrong place. You will see this guideline being ignored all the time, and that doesn't make it okay, just like the fact that just because millions of Americans choose to vote Democrat doesn't make it an okay thing to do.
- If your grammar, spelling, or typing skills are grossly sub par then I reserve the right to take a massive metaphorical shiz all over you.
- Don't post about NO NO WORD!!!. Or curse. There are word filters in place here, and even though they're ultra-stupid, they exist for some reason of which I am unaware. I mean, you can do this all you want I suppose, but the word filters will change your posts into unreadable nonsense.
- If you start getting personally upset, or find yourself getting worked up in a lather over something someone said, or find yourself unable to refrain from firing off racial/social epithets (unless its a joke, because racism = humor, am I right?), take a step back from your keyboard or iPhone or Android or some other hipster telemessaging device, and relax. It's a message board. If someone is making fun of you, it's most likely in complete jest. Unless it's me, because I already hate you.
- Finally, here are some topics that come up all the time. Avoid starting discussions about them whenever possible, because they accomplish nothing.
1) MTV does not own Bonnaroo. It just doesn't, so stop it. If you honestly believe this than you probably have better things to do than post on an internet message board, like "finish high school," or "stop sniffing glue."
2) If you really need to go into an in-depth discussion about how Kanye West ruined Bonnaroo in 2008, please be aware that you will be torn to pieces in about 30 seconds like you were thrown to a pack of hungry wolves. Which is pretty much exactly what will happen. Also please refrain from talking about how the Grateful Dead clan hates Bonnaroo because of 2008, because that's completely unfounded by anything and just makes you look stupid.
3) Similarly, Bonnaroo has been "ruined" multiple times over. By my count, the festival was ruined by Dave Matthews and his fratty fans (2004 and 2005); by Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, and all their emo depressive sadness (2006); by Tool and their ultra hardkore metal fans (2007); by Metallica, Mastodon, the Sword, and all the even MORE ultra hardkore mosh pits (2008); by Kanye West and all the MAINSTREAM malarky bands that came along with him (also 2008); by Bruce Springsteen and his cheesy Super Bowl Halftime Show-esque antics (2009); by Jay-Z and the other assorted hippity-hop rappers and their totes dangerous gangster thug fans (lol CASuAL RACISM) (2010); by Kings of Leon and their teeny bopper fan base (2010, but please note they were totally okay back in 2004 and 2005 when nobody knew who they were); by Arcade Fire (2011, nobody actually believes this but insane people); by Eminem and Lil' Wayne because a) they're too mainstream, b) they attract a bunch of THUGS and ROUGHNECKS, c) they attract a bunch of TEENS and FRAT BOYS (which seems to contradict "b," but whatever), and d) THEY WON'T EVER SHOW UP ON TIME BECAUSE THEY'RE RAPPERS. The larger point being, every year someone makes boneheaded complaints that Bonnaroo is going to be ruined by Random Artist X and their fratty/young/violent/aggressive/old/stupid/smelly/equine fans. It's old, and tired, and has no basis in reality. People are people, you'll find smurfs among fans of every band, get used to it.
4) There is no Thursday "headliner." Every year, Pollstar or Jambase or someone will list a certain artist as playing on Thursday night, and that artist will be someone a little too big for Thursday, like Widespread Panic or Snoop Dogg. People will start going full frittat, yelling about a Thursday headliner. Not happening. It's a mistake by the publication in question, that's all. Note: Someday, this may change, but it's not likely to happen this year, so just shut up about it. No, really - you're wrong, shut up.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask a veteran member of the board via PM, or a mod, or anyone except me, because I really will in all likelihood just mock you openly. I'm serious, I'm a very important man with very important things to do and I can't spend all day answering your questions when I already spend all day wasting time on this message board and finding ways to charge it to clients. Christ.
