Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
OK, so we all know what your dream Roo lineup is....what you want to see and DON'T want to see....what you have on your ipod and what pops up on shuffle...what you listen to on LastFM.com.....
Now, let's see your Deep Tracks....those one-off songs (maybe two or three that you have in your libraries - maybe not even on your mp3 players/ipods on a regular basis....that you like enough to keep around but don't advertise that often. I'm not talking about the stuff you get on sampler CDs and keep for a couple of weeks and then delete....or stuff you try out cause your "friends" said it was cool and you hated it. Or stuff by your normal fave bands that didn't cut it after a while...I mean those songs you sought out and have kept that keep going in and out of rotation.....like for me....since you guys KNOW I'm a grunge/metal girl...no Rage, Soundgarden, AIC, Temple of the Dog, Chris Cornell etc would be allowed since all that would be normal for me.... you get the pix..... So....my bakers dozen for a start would be....
A Girl Like You - Edwyn Collins Because The Night - 10,000 Maniacs The Space Between - Roxy Music Ah! Lea! - Donnie Iris Baby Love - Mother's Finest This Is Shangrila - Mother Love Bone (I Want Your) Hands on Me - Sinead O'Conner Little T&A - Rolling Stones Infected - The The Strawberry Letter 23 - The Brothers Johnson It's My Life - Bon Jovi Stall - Better Than Ezra Anna Begins - Counting Crows
Quite diff than my grungy psycho side ;D Not necessarily better...just different

glycerine - bush galaxie - blind melon hanger 18 - megadeth Lonesome crowded west *entire album* - Modest Mouse Anything Johnny Cash 1984 - Van Halen entire album
LOL! OK....here's the deal with "It's My Life".....I was in Germany for a week.....in a little town where NO ONE spoke any English....had been in Europe for almost 2 weeks already. The ONLY TV channel I could get in my hotel that had ANY English on it was MTV Europe....and this song was in HEAVY rotation at the time...I was homesick, HUNGRY (I am NOT a sausage/schnitzel fan ) and desperate to understand SOMETHING.... ??? So this became my anthem.... It's an emotional attachment issue

But we're not talking about stuff we're proud of, right? This is stuff we are embarrassed we love and is important to us. I mean, I'm proud of having Parters in Kryme's hit track from the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle move, "Turtle Power" and for knowing the entire rap by heart. That's my childhood right there, and I have no problem with it!

I've been pondering this too, and I have a similar problem to Alyroo... I try and hit all my music selection as much as possible.
I did download the Metallica discography one day just in spite, and every now and then when in one of those moods I'll put on Ride the Lightning or something crazy like that. Other than that, maybe a few random songs from 311 that I like, such as Creatures or Amber.

hrmmm... this one is hard for me too, as a typical mixed CD for me will contain country, rap, jam bands, old school r &r, and maybe a lil' techno every once in awhile.... but i'll go with my more "out there" tracks...
Trance and Acid-Kai Tracid (not my usual type of music, but it was the first song i ever really listened to/got into after eating some fungus)
"Songs about me" Trace Adkins
Tubthumpin CHumbawumba (what can i say, i was 12 when it came out)
Another Night-Reel MccoY (same excuse as above)
Redneck Yacht Club (totally an anthem song)
The Neden Game ~ ICP
3.14 ~Bloodhound Gang ("i need to find a new vagina, any kind of new vagina, it's hard to rhyme a word like vagina") hey, everyone needs a good laugh every once in awhile
Delta Dawn (cuz my mom used to pick up the phone and belt that out whenever i was talking to anyone of importance in my middle school world)

^^^RE: Last 3 posts... same here I went through all of my CD's and records last night... honestly, can't find anything that embarasses me, I mean, Tom Jones? The man oozes cool. Tori Amos? Beautiful voice, and she can rock with intensity. Van Hagar? Whatever... I like Sammy, so what's it to ya? Black Sabbath with Tony Martin as the singer... I eat that kind of cheeze up. Savatage? Ditto, cheeze. Billy Vera and the Beaters? Oh, come on, "At This Moment" is an epic song... and we all saw that life changing episode of Family Ties. I've already mentioned Meatloaf on here... Meatloaf in mah'belly! I do have burns people gave me that I dislike, but won't get rid of, because I refuse to throw out any music, no matter what it is... but that's just a matter of principle. Do I own 'embarassing' stuff? Sure, stored at my parents is a pile of vinyl including Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Rick Astley, Cher, Taylor Dayne, Bon Jovi, etc. Would I listen to any of this now? Absolutely not. Did I enjoy it all then? Of course, I didn't know any better. Both Debbie and Tiff got my adolecent hormones flowing, and the rest of the crap? That's what the girls I hung with liked, so thats what I liked... once again... hormones, sweet adolecent hormones... nothing embarrassing about being horny when you're 13 Ok, so last, you may ask about the dozen or so Billy Joel records that are also stored at my Mom's... well about that... those are my first line of defence should the Zombies ever try and take over
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

While at home this past weekend I stumbled upon my middle school CD collection. It actually made me cringe just looking at it... but as you said, there's nothing embarrassing about being horny at the age of 13.
There is, however, something embarrassing about finding an NSYNC christmas album in my room and having a vivid memory of listening to that once.
