When I asked for my Christmas presents, I just browsed Amazon.com looking for ideas. (I also set up a wishlist on there that people could look up by my name). I ended up asking for a lot of books, cds, and dvds (which I don't normally do because I can never remember which ones I want when my mom asks for my list).
If you drink wine, a really good corkscrew is always nice.
Gift cards are always fun to spend.

You should just be thankful that your parents care enough to get you anything for Christmas. I haven;t recieved anything for christmas from my parents since I hit 18 (adulthood). As they say, "Christmas is for the kids". Boo!
Its funny though, I always get them something. Maybe I wont this year.
(I wonder if my kids will call my wife and I "Parental Units" when they are older..... ???

Yeah, my "big gift" this year for my little brother and I is a pre-loaded Visa with enough money on it to cover a Bonnaroo ticket when they go on sale. It's funny...for the past 2 years they've been kind of sketchy about us going to Bonnaroo, but this year they were all about giving us tickets!
Other than that I'm asking for a new bottle of perfume (it's expensive and hard for me to buy on my own), a UAB sweatshirt, and an external hard drive. Maybe a couple of seasons of my favorite TV shows too.

LOL roofan...my little brother asked for a playstation 3 for his big present! I thought my external hard drive was big...all of those are all under $40 (besides the perfume and the hard drive) anyway. The parents just decided to do the Roo ticket $$ as something "extra" this year. I'm not complaining though! Besides, I've only been of 'legal age' (21) for a few months anyway

I'm with you - I think my parents are writing the three adult kids and spouses checks for $50 each and that is it.
I asked for some new headphones (mine broke ), a new digital camera (mine got stolen at Roo last year ) and then I browsed Amazon looking for books/music/movies that sound good. I ended up asking for some Roger Waters/David Gilmour DVDs, a Joni Mitchell DVD, and some music books. I pretty much know I'll be getting the camera and headphones, and I really could wait on getting those. I made sure to tell my mom that I would actually be fine if I didn't get anything this year, especially since headphones and camera (both of which aren't with me anymore) were my big gifts last year.
Cash is always good.... ;D That's what I usually get from mine, my parents wouldn't have a clue what to get me.... But at least they do come through with $$...so I can't complain.

I'm 18 and still get christmas presents apparently, but not really much of anything else... Can't really complain though, got a PS3 for my 18th birthday, and i probably didn't even earn that.

Ohhhh neat ;D I just love going back to a thread I started. I dig my parental units a whole lot and do appreciate them and their generosity....I mean, they successfully raised me for goodness sake! They usually buy me good Christmas and birthday gifts because I go to school and work full time, not to mention live on my own, pay all my bills, and am paying for all my education (through grad school, no less! Dreading that every day).
I appreciate all the suggestions you guys! Keep 'em coming.
My friends and I usually do a pretty big deal at Christmas (few close friends, that is) and I usually luck out with Tees, cds/books/dvds/stickers/posters/cool stuff for the apartment so I don't really ask the 'units for that kinda stuff.
Oh and they always buy me a good amount of groceries around the holidays
Like I said, I love my parents ^_^ they're real awesome.

Random but maybe it'll make Roofan feel better...
The last Christmas present I got from my grandmother (she raised me) was a shoebox with 2 pairs of socks and a bottle of Jergen's body wash in it. That MAY not sound that bad to some of you folks, but (at the same time) my sister got a wrap-aroung oak bookcase, a shitload of jewelry and a Faberge (sp?) egg!!!!

^Good point except for two things:
1.) I'm not obsessed with money or the cash value of gifts but, that sh!t was a slap in the face. 2.) These were 2 lose pairs of socks. Do socks even come like that?

My 'rents are getting me a digital camera for Christmas, but that is all I'm getting. I told them which one I wanted (cause they have no clue what's any good), it was about 250, so that's all I'm getting. I'm quite content though. Honestly, I don't need much.
