usually i go out and have a big old time hearing a plethora of different djs, but this year i really need to save some money having started this new job finally. i have lots of things to take care (money-wise) so i think i'll stay home and chill. if i do end up doing something, it will probably be a little house party close to home so i don't spend much money.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

We too are throwing down in ATL on New Year's.
On the 30th, the boy and I are going to see Sound Tribe, and then spending the day in Atlanta on the 31st...then later that night we are meeting up with 20 of our closest friends and heading to The Loft & Vinyl for Liquified's 2008 New Year's party, "Toasted"...featuring Filo and Peri, Phil K, Ian James, Random Rabbit, and a bunch of other DJ's. I am so super excited...it's the first time I've done anything really big for New Year's and it's going to be a hell of a time!

awesome! liquified does some great stuff in ATL. i went to laurent garnier's show @ wetbar in november and that shit blew me away. he was amazing.
I'm going to Dewey Beach for the weekend. This is the third year we've done it - rent a house or condo and go out every night except NYE - that night we cook ourselves a fancy dinner at home, drink champagne and play card games. Best New Year's ever.
They say that what you do on NYE sets the tone for the rest of the year and this past year, I almost exclusively hung out with those who were in Dewey with me!

That they do. I've been to two Liquified shows this year (Armin van Buuren and Oakenfold) and I can't WAIT for new years.
Sad though, the boyfriend and I are not going to make it to STS9. Oh well still going to be fun!!

Anyone living in the Murfreeboro and surrounding areas of middle TN area can come out to the Mellow Mushroom for a free show that night. The Incredible Heat Machine are playing Mellow Mushroom's final show there (new management and wants to be more "family" friendly). I think they start at 10 and should play till at least 1 or longer. I know they are going all out for this show since a record exec is going to be there from the Philly area. The more people out there, the better. Show some love for the local music.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Here in the cleveland area we are going to JiMiller Band and Rusted Root. Show doesn't start until 9 or 10, so hopefully they will play until 2 and then the party continues to the hotel room. I am fired up a show worth seeing is going on around here for New Years Eve.
Me and my friend Lucy are goin to STS9 at The Tabernacle and Im quite excited to see em in a more intimate venue than the Roo show (which was amazing all the same). Im also goin with a buncha friends (people) so it'll be a great time although my best friend who gets weird sometimes (cant really explain it. He jsut acts all like he's depressed and doesnt wanna do anything thats fun) is gonna give up a NYE STS9 show in case of any parties that might be going on which he doesnt know of any yet. Oh well, his loss. Anybody else catchin the NYE show? Ill wear my Roo shirt so approach anyone you see with a non official roo shirt on that is a young dude. It might be me.
Hmmmm...Hotlanta isn't too far away.....I MIGHT be able to swing that...sounds like the most fun of anything in the immediate area so far...... ;D Since I have to WORK NYE day

After checking out the choices available to us ..I think we are doing the same thing as last year . Which was cool.. We See a show at a comedy club in a hotel in Scranton. Get a room and get our groove on.. they have an indoor pool too . the whole thing from soup to nuts with the dinner package is just about $75 per person with the room , food , show , and champane toast at midnight ... and we buy 1 drink at the show and keep our glass's filled buy hitting the room again and refilling .. I'm not cheap ..I'm Frugel..
