It's a little more off-beat, but "Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey" is extremely interesting. It's (obviously) about Leon Theremin's life, the odd musical instruments he invented and how he was kidnapped by the KGB and forced to work on "sonic weapons". Like I said, It's not for everyone but I dug the hell out of it.

Heathers on the money about Heart of Gold, very well made film with a great mix of Neil's new and old work. Also the Tom Petty Documentary "Runnin Down a Dream" is quite good, almost like behind the music on steriods. The thinkg I like most about is when they talk about a song they just give you a snippet after the fact they let it play out.

I was particularly moved by "The Devil and Daniel Johnston". A nice look at a man with too much stuff in his head. Talent, expectations, demons, drugs, etc.
Great soundtrack, captivating, and featuring appearances by some of your favorite punk rock influences...
