So, it's been 100 days since I started making some drastic & much needed changes in my life and I thought I'd share them with everyone. Hopefully this inspires someone. In the past 100 days I've:
-Stayed sober...just holy shit lol.
-Completely changed around my eating habits. I've worked out 3 times and have lost 35lbs in this time frame. 50 lbs lost since March.
-Really started to distance myself from negative and stressful people who attract and invite drama into their lives. Life is way too short to be around those type of people.
-Tried to be around awesome ppl as often as possible! I experienced the best vibes at camp! Thx u to the friends that were there and the new friends I met out and about! Love you guys!
-The days after Hulaween turned into one of the best weeks of my life! So chill, fun and drama free. Y'all know who u are...thx u thx u thx u! Nothing but the best vibes!
Just a quick shout out to say thanks to everyone that's helped me out along the way and stuck with me when I was in full retard mode. Now I wake up and I'm excited about each day. If you're not happy in life, change up your habits, your environment and the people you hang with.
I'm beyond excited about what the next 100 days will offer!
This is such a great and inspiring post! Yay!
I've decided to forego drinking alcohol for the entirety of 2016 - though I might take a break from the break during Roo, idk yet. I don't feel addicted to the substance but do recognize all the ways that I would benefit from cutting it out for a substantial period of time; I certainly haven't gone a year without drinking since I first started, at age ~17. I am excited to do it but also kinda nervous because I know it'll be tough at times - there are a LOT of social settings that comprise people drinking, and I will have to get used to not doing so while everyone else does. Any words of advice on dealing with that part?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Right on, thx! The first time I seriously tried to stopp drinking I went cold turkey and experienced hallucinations. So, if I can do it, anyone can haha!
Probably the best single advice I can give is just be straight up honest with anyone that asks or offers you a drink. I got teased a few times, but than I realized the only time I hung out w/ certain ppl was to drink. Just remember you're trying to do something extremely healthy for yourself and if a person gives u serious grief over that, u might to reconsider their friendship.
-Everyone loves a DD! -If u can blaze, blaze before, during & after lol -I NEEDED a cup in my hand at parties; bring a tea that relaxes you or something & keep it in the host's fridge. -Better to leave a setting early then wake up the next day hungover & regretfully. -There's never shame in leaving early so u can be a night closer to your goal =) -Estimate how much u would have spent drinking per month, put it into a separate account and buy yourself your reward in 2017! You earned it =)

Lots of great advice, thanks!!
I already do choose to DD sometimes just 'cause I personally prefer having my car when going out and being able to leave whenever I want (and not pay for an uber), but obviously I never drink and drive.
Hallucinations though? :/ Thats intense. I assume you were drinking a fair amount every day at that point, when you tried to then quit cold turkey?

Ya I was drinking quite a bit daily. I managed to cut it down in half a week prior but still got hallucinations lol. Fortunately I knew what they were, so I could just close my eyes. The thing that really sucked were the auditory hallucinations. They were always brief thou & occurred at the same time during the first few days of me quitting. Alcohol is the most boring of all drugs anyways haha.
One of my sons sat in the floor with me for an hour yesterday playing with Big Blocks. He has this boom box that plays kiddo tunes. Each time the song ended he would play another and then look at me and clap. I lost my shiz yesterday and broke down multiple times.
After half an hour, his brother came in and destroyed everything. Kinda fitting, imo.

Samuel Herring was at Low End Theory in Los Angeles last night, went on stage for and rapped for a bit. Met him afterwards, nicest dude in the world. My love for Future Islands just grew exponentially.

Your hotdog looked so good. I wish the late night hot dog carts would come down to SD.

It was delicious! I hadn't seen any in Orange County either till about a year ago but know I see them pretty often, with any luck they'll keep going south

We have them in Hartford- or rather we had them when I used to go downtown in college and I assume we still have them. Our favorite cart was run by "Gina with the weinas!" We blame her for my college roommate's broken foot NYE 2006.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Microwaves are completely unnecessary. I went four and a half years without one and didn't miss it. The only reason I have one now is because it came with the house. I mainly use it to melt butter.

I haven't had a microwave in probably a decade. You figure out how to deal without one pretty quick. For butter, I have taken to putting it in a Pyrex cup and sitting it over the back left eye while the oven is preheating.

Is that a burner on the stovetop? I've never heard that phrase outside of TLC!
p.s. that's also how I melt my butter, even though I do have a microwave.

I have never heard that before. I was thinking that it was a vent or something. Just googled it and it is a term for a burner.

I snagged a couple decent tickets for Panthers Cowboys game off of StubHub earlier this week. When they arrived enclosed was a note that said " from the Honorable Mike farhat, thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for everything we have. Hopefully this upgrade to a premium suite as well as a parking pass and complementary program will add to the season and make Thanksgiving more special for you."
I was in shock, as things like this just don't happen to me. What's unfortunate is that this guy is a circuit judge in my district, and probably gave me these tickets thinking I was a Cowboy fan. I doubt many Carolina fans from Carolina are receiving upgraded seats from a judge in Texas. Amaze balls.

I had a second phone interview for a job I'd really like to get in LA last night. I heard back and they are going to fly me out there for an in-person interview!

The last month of work as been insane. I was given a huge project to do and not a lot of time to do it. Then, due to circumstances that are totally legitimate and out of our control, we had to finish the project two weeks early. I gave up some of my vacation to help finish it out and my coworkers and I completely kicked that project's ass.
Yesterday I finally got to start my vacation. I went on a run, got all the food stuffs for Thanksgiving, started cooking some easy stuff and bought some insanely nice shoes from the thrift store. I mean these things are awesome. They retail for $200 and I got em for $30.
Now today is my "nothing" day. I slept in, ate a ton of bacon and eggs and am now sitting on my ass, drinking coffee, and watching all the Bob's Burgers I've missed.
